The menu changes slightly from time to time, and they now offer eel and red shrimp for grilling—both of which were quite good. Our family was very happy with both the food and the service. We will definitely keep coming back to this location!
The ordering process itself was straightforward and largely independent of the waiter. I do wish the meats were labeled on the plates so it would be easier to identify favorites and reorder them. The drink, sauce, and side bars were creative and well done, and I enjoyed many of the dishes, especially the carpaccio. That said, it’s pretty pricey, so I don’t really see myself visiting more than once a year.
Major shoutout to Kevin! Kevin was amazing. He was attentive, friendly, and an excellent conversationalist. He checked in at perfect intervals, guided us through the menu, and even helped us navigate the Chubby Rewards app. His hospitality truly elevated our night. Because of him, this visit ended up being better than our recent Mikiya and Chubby Skewers experiences. He really set the bar for what great service should feel like.
I’ve been to the Monterey Park and San Gabriel Chubby Cattle locations as well, and the Rowland Heights store is by far the best when it comes to service, organization, and overall cleanliness. Everything felt more polished, well-maintained, and smoothly run.
The restaurant has a high-energy modern vibe with warm glowing panels, sleek grill setups, and an impressive layout that makes the whole space feel premium and immersive. The arcade corner is a fun bonus, especially for families. It feels like a full experience, not just a meal.
We tried a wide range of items and loved everything.
The beef cuts were exceptional, from the beautifully marbled premium selections to the thin-sliced cuts that cooked quickly and practically melted.
The Diamond Member beef items that came in the box were a standout, with tender, richly flavored pieces topped with fresh herbs and garnishes. The appetizers and sides were strong as well. The sliders were delicious, and the rice and seaweed helped balance the richness of the meats. Everything arrived fresh, well-portioned, and visually impressive.
The warm egg tart was the cherry on top of the entire dinner, flaky, warm, creamy, and absolutely perfect. I truly hope it never leaves the menu and stays forever. It’s the ideal ending to the meal.
Rowland Heights has officially become our favorite location, and we’ll definitely be back.
Once inside, you’re greeted by a mostly clean dining area and a playlist that feels straight out of Six Flags. Interestingly, they also have simple arcade machines to keep you occupied if your table isn’t ready. There’s a **90-minute dine-in limit** and a **70-minute ordering limit**.
The tables were clean and the service was friendly, but not very efficient. You grab your own drinks and order through a tablet—and remember that time limit? The tablet also restricts how much and how frequently you can order. My grill went out a few times, which delayed the meal even more. The small dishes (kimchi, sigeumchi, flat rice cakes, etc.) are buffet-style and self-served, which isn’t ideal from a hygiene standpoint. I’d prefer they be brought directly from the kitchen whenever we run out, especially since getting them ourselves eats into our limited dining time.
Our server was great, but overall service was slow and difficult to get when we needed something. Most of the food tasted good, with some items better than others. The meat quality was average—not bad, not great—and some cuts had more fat than I’d prefer.
Overall, I do like the restaurant, but the numerous time constraints add up and make the experience feel rushed, especially considering I’m cooking my own food, serving myself, and ordering through a restricted tablet. They also ran out of ice cream and a few other items we wanted, which is disappointing since we’re paying for a full package that wasn’t fully available.
The atmosphere definitely not relaxing. Lines of people to get sauce, side dishes, fountain drinks,…like the food line for charity. Servers were busy dropping and picking up dishes…..never asked how was everything?
Idk what the fuss about this place. For the money spent on eight, Definitely there is better option then the dining experience we had here.
