Off of a long flight and seeking food, we found this place on accident. The service was welcoming. The food was so delicious. They ran out of chicken legs and asked if I wanted something else. I got rib tips and they didn’t charge us extra. Everything was seasoned through and through. Sizeable portions. Very reasonable pricing. Everyone was so friendly. We will be back if we are in the area. Check this place out for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Typical southern American restaurant especially for us Europeans. Meals are rich in flavor and portions are huge. We had all beef platter and BBQ pork platter with sides and cornbread and biscuits. Everything was tasty. Prices are fair.

We were excited to try the food after, coming many, many years ago. We were greeted warmly and sat quickly. The staff were quick and sweet all night long. My husband tried the chicken livers & loved them with the mashed potatoes. We both agreed the sweet potatoe casserole was pretty good. The other vegetables I had were okay- but not quite how I expect at a Southern restaurant. I tried the potato salad, Mac n cheese and peas. Cornbread was yum. Prices were very fair.

Ordered ribs for Superbowl! Was supposed to be a 6 bone rib dinner! The ribs were horrible and Luke warm, they were old and did not come off of a grill, the macaroni and cheese was terrible…it was bland and not seasoned,I immediately trashed it!! The service was poor, and the employees were dismissive and rude!!! I will never enter this establishment again, and I suggest you don’t either especially if you are an African American!!

It’s an old place like really old and so is the menu. But believe me it’s worth having the meals as the taste is fabulous. The best part is you get breakfast all day and that too it’s a traditional breakfast. The ambience reminds you of the 1960’s sitting style and so is the atmosphere. But overall it’s a great place to have a great meal.

I tried this place 3 years ago and did not like it. 3 years later….tried it again….this place is horrible! Nothing has flavor! The amount of salt I had to add to everything was obscene. “brisket”….swimming in liquid…dry as hell, but tender. mashed potatoes…were they real? doubt it. no flavor. fried okra…not bad, a little over cooked. créme corn…ok, but zero flavor. mac n cheese….horrible. no flavor at all. i drained liquid from my bowl onto my plate bc it was just so gross. atmosphere….subpar. not dirty, but feels like it. service….girl at register acted like she couldnt be bothered. waitress was chewing on something and kept putting her hand over her mouth when speaking to me. Dont go here. Will advise the same to my officemates

The food was not for me. The group is was with talked very highly of the food and atmosphere. They said I had to have the red gravy. It was not for me. I like more traditional breakfast.
My eggs and sausage were ok.
Everyone else said their meal was good and tasty. They plan on going back. I can say I was there once.
The waitress was awesome. She was very attentive and super friendly.
If you are looking for a good southern breakfast, then you are in for a treat. If you want a traditional breakfast, perhaps there are better choices.

This place was recommended by a coworker so we went for lunch. It was the worse decision. The fried chicken was the best thing even though it was unseasoned. The Sweet potato soufflé was dry and the Mac and cheese was an eye sore. I asked for something else and that was just as bad. Long story short I threw my plate away wasted my money and ended up going to another restaurant.

We came back here. Last year was the first time we came here.
This time I had 3 pieces of chicken, cheddar rice and broccoli, slaw and banana pudding (unfortunately they did not have shredded chicken and pineapple pudding). And I had sweet tea with lemon.
My husband had tilapia fish, cheddar rice and broccoli, potato with gravy, potato salad, peach cobbler and unsweet tea.
Of course we had corn bread. And boy was it delicious.
We had the same waitress. She was friendly.
It was not as cold as last year. In fact it was warmer (62F).
If we come back to Atlanta next year we will come back here.
It’s next to the Waffle House on Virginia Ave near the Sonesta north hotel.

The food was delicious! I had shredded BBQ chicken, a side of cheddar broccoli rice, coleslaw and pineapple pudding, for the price of $10.99 and sweet tea with lemon. The portions were generous.
My husband had the tilapia fish with chicken soup, cheddar broccoli rice and mashed potatoes with gravy. We had cornbread. They were warm and soft. Since the portions were generous I brought half home.
The waitress was friendy but shevwas all alone.
I definitely recommend this place.
The only negative though was that it was cold.
