We hosted a private event at Stationaery and the entire experience from start to finish truly exceeded our expectations.

The booking process was incredibly smooth and easy, with so many thoughtful ways to customize the event such as rearranging tables, having your own music, and curating the menu and wine selections. They made it easy to create something that felt personal and special. And for anyone who doesn’t have the bandwidth to choose from their extensive wine list (like us), their team will put together wonderful wine selections while keeping your F&B minimum in mind.

The space is also just perfect for an intimate gathering. Guests were able to move naturally between the main restaurant, wine counter, glasshouse, and courtyard.

Most importantly, the food and service were exceptional. Our guests still rave about the lobster rolls, the cakes (get all of them!), and the drinks. The staff were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive all evening. It genuinely felt like we became friends within the few hours we were there.

We’ll always look back fondly on our evening at Stationaery and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, welcoming space for a private event.

Stationæry is a beautiful and cozy breakfast spot in Carmel—relaxed, charming, and the perfect place to enjoy a slow morning with coffee and a great meal. It’s very popular for a reason, so expect it to be busy, but the service was efficient and friendly.

The food is fresh, well-made, and beautifully presented. We were a little sad that their must-order hash browns were already sold out when we arrived around 10am (they open at 8am), so definitely try to come earlier if you have specific items in mind. The avocado toast, however, was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and very satisfying.

Street parking is available with two hours free, which makes it easy to stop by while exploring Carmel.

Overall, if you’re visiting Carmel-by-the-Sea, Stationæry is absolutely worth checking out for a lovely breakfast or coffee break.

Stationæry is a gem in Carmel! The atmosphere is cute and cozy, making it the perfect spot to tuck into. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome right away even though we came close to closing time.

The food is definitely a highlight, featuring innovative, fusion-inspired dishes that put a fresh twist on brunch classics. Everything tasted great, though a few flavor combos were quite adventurous, the sausage banh mi was my favorite. They have a lovely outdoor seating option for soaking up the coastal air if that’s what you’re looking for as well.

A fun find in Carmel. Plenty of seating outside and in the two small rooms. We had a reservation and didn’t have to wait long to be seated. We sat inside since it was a bit chilly but we were given the option indoors or outside. The coffee was just okay, a bit too fruity for me. I prefer a really good cup of coffee over all the lattes and sugary drinks. I had the yogurt granola bowl. It was beautiful, fresh fruit and very tangy yogurt. The pumpkin seed granola could have used some oats and grains. It was a bit too seedy for me. My husband had the breakfast plate, which was good, eggs cooked well and the bacon was delicious. The biscuit was baked fresh and the perfect texture. The cinnamon roll was spectacular! Probably the best I’ve ever had! The whipped topping alone was to die for!
The must have gooey center, just enough frosting to cover every bite and the seasoning was perfect. Just wished the coffee was better to go with that deliciousness.
Staff were great, very attentive and friendly.
A little pricey for breakfast.

Great, attentive service! The food was a bit overpriced but everything tasted good. The lobster roll was good but not the same as fresh Maine or east coast Lobster rolls in my opinion! My husband loved his chilaquiles and the orange juice was fresh and yummy.

Heard this was the brunch spot everyone talks about, so had to make this our first stop. Scored a reservation just two days ahead, and I guess we got lucky, because walk-ins looked nearly impossible without a wait once the tables started filling up.

Most people went straight for the standard breakfast plate, but we opted for the potato pancake and the chilaquiles. Best call of the day.

The potato pancake was one of the best brunch plates I’ve ever had. A perfect stack: light creaminess from Stepladder fromage blanc, fruity sweetness from stone fruit, and that punch of umami from Ibérico ham. The crepe-thin potato pancake underneath gave everything contrast, soaking up the toppings with a little crisp and just enough grease. Absolute magic.

The chilaquiles were solid. Balanced flavors, satisfying enough, but after the high of that pancake, they felt a tad plain.

If you’re in the area, this place is worth the reservation for breakfast or brunch.

The influencers lied. saddened that 1 star was the lowest you can go. Carefully chosen typography and plates are with a meticulously manicured “vibe” but that’s where the good things end.

This restaurant comes across as a place designed by 5 graphic designers and absolutely 0 people involved in restaurants. we orders the steak medium rare and breakfast plate and the steak arrived completely brown all the way through. One of the most well done steaks i’ve seen even as a line cook. the portion sizes are damn near insulting and buying an international plane ticket for the airline food would probably be a better deal than this.

If you choose to dine at this restaurant, come for a glass of water or coffee, tip your server in cash, and go somewhere else to eat real food.

Our waitress was pretty nice tho shoutout

We had such a wonderful experience at Stationery in Carmel-by-the-Sea! I tried the avocado toast with eggs followed by the Basque cheesecake, and everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, the staff are very kind and attentive, and on a Wednesday around lunchtime there were plenty of seats available. Highly recommend this place!

Stationæry is one of the best breakfast places we’ve visited before. It was very cute and European feeling – there was indoor, outdoor, and glass house seating. The mocha was very rich and tasty. The seasonal latte was rosemary honey and SO good! The avocado toast had a very generous layer of avo heaped on top. The egg and seaweed were great touches on this. But the potato pancake was the star of the show. It was beautifully plated and every bite was a symphony. The mix of cheese, fruit, egg, and potato was just perfect. Would highly recommend visiting here and we can’t wait to come back!!

Stationaery is a delightful breakfast spot with a cozy atmosphere and excellent food. We ordered the French toast, a breakfast plate with a biscuit, eggs on the side, hot chocolate, and a cardamom latte—everything was fantastic! The French toast was perfectly fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. The biscuit was buttery and flaky, pairing wonderfully with the eggs. The hot chocolate was rich and comforting, while the cardamom latte had a unique, aromatic flavor that I loved. The service was warm and attentive, making the experience even better. Definitely a must-visit for a delicious and satisfying breakfast!
