Found out about this place when it featured in the local news recently. The owner won a Gelato competition in Italy. She won over many Italian chefs!! That reason was strong enough for me to go to the store to try some famous gelato. It truly was delicious. There is outdoor seating which helps if the weather is good. Owner was in the store. Very nice lady, she shared her experience in the competition.

As an ethical vegan who has never been able to indulge in gelato before tonight, I was delighted to find that they offered not 1 but 3 plant-based gelato flavors! I drove an hour and a half round trip, and I certainly was not disappointed. The salted caramel vegan gelato was completely worth the long drive! I did not know that it was possible for something to taste so good, and this coming from someone who does not have a sweet tooth! My only regret was that it took me so long to try this decadent, animal-free/cruelty-free/vegan gelato! If you also try your best to live a compassionate lifestyle, you must drop everything and get yourself down to Gelato di Babbo in Hummelstown. Run, don’t walk!

Love Kim’s Gelatos. A cup for $7 and she stacks it so high it’s almost like 2 portions for me. I’d love if she’s add a kiddie size which could be good for kids and those watching their waistline because this gelato is dangerously delicious. The pistachio and hazelnut are my favorites along with her lemon sorbetto

I was worried this was going to be one of the places that was super hyped up and then my expectations would be too high and I wouldn’t actually like it. But it turns out it was even better than my expectations. I’m going to dream about the pistachio gelato for the rest of my life. I still talk about the clam chowder I had on the Oregon coast twenty plus years ago. This is like that. I’ll never find any gelato/ice cream/etc better, and I’ll spend eternity trying to. Also my three year old said “I LOVE ALL THE FLAVORS” (I did too) and he’s the biggest food critic I know.

Gelato is my absolute favorite treat, especially in the summer, but getting handmade gelato was always nearly impossible in the area — not anymore! Flavor was so rich, perfect velvet texture, and so cool, rich and creamy. I’m such a sucker for pistachio, but everything looks too good to stick to one flavor. I’ll be back again all summer!

My family and I decided to venture here on a hot Sunday. We were not disappointed! The gelato was amazing and the service was exceptional. The only downfall is that we couldn’t try every single flavor, because they all sounded delicious! If you want authentic gelato that tasted like you bought it in Europe, this is the place to find it! I ordered two flavors of vegan gelato:maple cinnamon and banana nut bread!! Both were SO GOOD and creamy even my non vegan husband was impressed. The owner, Kim, takes pride in her work and it shows. I encourage anyone vegan or non dairy to check out this lovely place. Her business is super clean too!!

I have wanted to try Gelato di Babbo for a long time but was never in Hershey when Kim was at the shop. Today she and I connected so she’d be there when I could stop. I appreciate her effort to help me, and the gelato (coffee) was fantastic. Unfortunately I’m usually in Hershey during the week, and she’s available on weekends. I’ll keep trying to make it work though because the gelato was every bit as good as I had hoped.
