This restaurant is modern, decorated well, and clean. On entry, the staff was welcoming and ready to serve with patience. The menu was laid out well and easy to read, with prices clearly stated.
Having gone to numerous Jamaican restaurants, I instantly noticed the prices were high in comparison. I bought a $14.99 jerk chicken meal and a $14.99 curry chicken meal which only came with rice ‘n’ peas. I had to buy the cabbage separately which automatically comes free at other restaurants. In total I spent $41.30.
The containers were small but fully packed. On arrival home, both dishes were flavorful but dry! No gravy! The cabbage was nice but had a little too much salt. I didn’t think I will go back if I’m in that area as what I got for what I paid was not worth it.

I have tried to support this business a few times. I have only ordered the oxtails because out of the few items I have tried the oxtails seem to be what I prefer. Yesterday was my last time giving them 30.00 for oxtails that are not falling off the bone tender. I decided to try it again yesterday, this time I asked for the white rice instead of the beans and rice with the oxtails. I also requested gravy and extra gravy with the meal with cornbread, the cornbread was fresh and had a good taste. The son which is always there got my order together, you would think because I have mentioned to them before about the toughness of the oxtails that he would make sure my order would be satisfying, instead he loaded up the rice with 3 pieces of dry oxtails and rice of which I didn’t eat much of. I would like my money back. Because it was closing time I could not go back and they had no voicemail to leave a message. Give me back my 30.00. I will not recommend you guys ever again.

First time here. I’m in the area for work and I was wanting to try some different types of local cuisine. Found this near me. Came in around noon, very little wait.
I ordered the jerk chicken with red beans and rice and I barely waited 2 minutes when they were handing me my food. Relaxed atmosphere, with reggae type music playing in background. The food was so fresh it was hot and steaming. Delicious. A colorful bed of red beans and rice with plump, tasty pieces of chicken and potatoes on top.
This place is a must visit.! I’m definitely going to stop in again.

The food was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to go back. I ordered beef ribs with beans, rice and corn bread. My sauce was supposed to be sweet but it was spicy. I do like spicy food. Cornbread portion was very generous. Overall portion size was decent. 4 Stars because I felt the customer service and overall experience could’ve been better for an “Island” style restaurant.

Fantastic food. This is some of the rare and interesting food in Battle Creek.
Photo of a sandwich I made from my take out order of the Jerk chicken w/rice, greens, and jerk sauce. The sourdough was from Shannon’s Sourdough Co in Athens.

The food is overpriced for what it is. The greens had red and yellow peppers in them. For the price put some turkey in those greens. Traditional southern greens are the best. The curry chicken and rice tasted old not fresh. Spent $20 on lunch and won’t be returning. Paid $1 for bottled water.

I ordered Jerk Chicken with beans and rice. The chicken is so tender, flavorful and the sides are perfectly cooked. I can’t wait to go back to try the greens and jerk brisket.
