Square pizza slices – any recs? : r/AskNYC – Reddit

Mama’s Too has the undeniable best square slice in Manhattan. Paulie Gee’s Slice makes an incredible square too (though it’s a bit polarizing).

10/10 The cheese slice pizza tastes like real original NY style street pizza. Definitely nostalgia. The square vodka slice is also a new favorite. Not too much seating but it doesn’t matter. The place looked clean located in Clinton street. All the pies are made fresh, one of my many trips was when they opened for the day.

The employee handling the pizza orders was openly rude and dismissive toward me. Despite arriving before several other customers, my order was completely skipped while he served multiple straight couples behind me. When I tried to ask about it, he ignored me and continued taking their orders instead.

The interaction felt discriminatory and homophobic, and it was extremely uncomfortable.

$2 Dollars for a slice. At that price point this is an excellent slice. The crust is chewy and the pizza is oily. I was impressed with the overall flavor and freshness. Will absolutely come back. They were open relatively late during covid which was nice. Outdoor seating made the experience even better!

I went here around 23.30, they’re closing already but they still accept us! the pizza was SO GOOD and i know we got the last batch, but it still tastes amazing, proves they really keep the quality between batches.

I’ve ordered delivery twice from square pizza NYC, the first time was good, the second time was probably the worse pizza I’ve had in 15 years, and the first pizza where I couldn’t even finish a slice.

Pizza arrived cold, it was half cheese half pepperoni and the pepperoni side was covered with pepperoni’s stacked on top of each other. The pizza was so greasy, and had clearly sat so long that some of the grease had congealed on the pizza, and had turned the overall texture of the pizza into mush

The pizza arrived after about 45 minutes, but I’m pretty sure this was an old cheese pizza they cooked a few hours earlier, then threw a pile of pepperoni’s on one half of it, and then sent off to be delivered, because the pepperoni’s were just piled on one side of the pizza and it didn’t look like they were cooked with it

The cheese tasted old. Not what I expected. Ended up tossing all 4 slices. Not even the homeless man wanted it.

I have not been here in a few years and sadly, this is no longer authentic pizza. This is glorified frozen pizza made with inferior ingredients. I will, sadly, never come here again. I hope the business figures out that they made a huge mistake in their ingredients plan and change their ways. This city is filled with pizza options. Do not make this one of yours
