The ticket for the bar costs 800 baht which is also a coupon for drinks. I bought 2 tickets for 1600 baht had 5 drinks (3cocktails 2 beers)and still had a balance of 200 baht left over. The price is great the views are awesome. The staff is great. Overall its a must see in bangkok. Download your GRAB app for cheap rides around the city.

We were not allowed to stay at the roof top since we were wearing flip flops but the bar at the 52. floor was worth the visit anyway! It is a very nice small bar open on the sides, that gives you a nice overlook over the city. There was nice background music and then even live music. The staff was very attentive and brought us a powerbank to charge our phones. The drinks are fancy, nicely prepared and taste very good. They serve some nuts and snacks with the drinks.
Of course it is a bit more pricey, but we enjoyed it!

Beautiful rooftop on the top floor of the Marriott.
Minimun spending 800 per person.
The cocktails and mocktails are delicious, the music isn’t too loud (so you can actually talk), and the service is really kind and attentive.

The only downside: if you need to use the restroom, you have to go down two floors. Other than that, it’s a great spot for a relaxed drink with a view.

I’m still giving it a 5 star (for a nice view, relaxed atmosphere, good service and excellent mocktails i ordered Horizon)though our experience was cut short due to the rainy weather. After we ordered our drinks it started to rain so we had to pay our bills right after and head down to the covered area. Good thing we were able to take some pictures before it rained hard. If your purpose is to enjoy your evening with some drinks, cool music, international people and a view to remember then the place is for you but if you want some quiet and none touristy bar then you might consider other venues.

The view is of course impressive, one terrace is for dinner, the other is a bar, the pleasant impression was spoiled by some overly noisy customers. The cocktails were good, without being stunning, the super attentive and polite staff should be noted!

The Moon Bar is located on the top floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel. It is quite popular, has a great atmosphere, and offers beautiful night views.

The view is good. But really disappointing. This days is the funeral of the queen of Thailand. But before we come in, no one noticed anything about the music will be low , closing time early, they just care to charge you minimum 800 per person. Such a bad experience.

The view is good….but it stops there!

The rooftop is accessible to none hotel residents for 800 bht/person in food or drinks. Could be ok but a draft beer is 390 bht!, and the next cheapest drink is 590 bht…so you end up paying 2 overpriced, watered-down, unsavoury cocktails or 3 beers!
On top of those prices an unannounced 10% service charge is added…plus tax!
(The 50cl bottle of watter is 200bht!)
Also, you should not expect the best service for those prices…they got our first order wrong twice and finally brought our drinks the wrong table…waited over 30min for a g&t (Monkey 47) and a draft beer! Some patrons got explanations on what the nibbles were, we did not…some people were very well looked after, we were ignored 3 times when we wanted to order our second round!

Yes, I know that high prices is how they make the establishment “select” or ramp-up the “hype” for the place….but come-on!, at least make it worth it!

Again, the view is great (and for a vacation splurge worth it), but be aware that the prices are “Occidental”.

In one word, overrated. The view is fantastic, but it stops there. The drinks’ quality are awful, we ordered 6 drinks and none was good. The barman lacked presentation with untidy outfit and masks on (19/9/2025) working like he was forced to do the job. First, they made a mistake in one of my drinks and used soda water instead of Tonic water in my Gin & Tonic and then made 3 Aperol spritz for us with no Prosecco in them, I was watching one Aperol was supposed to be free because of all the issues but anyway it did not taste good.

No notion of ‘knowing your customer’. As soon as you say you aren’t a hotel guest, the face changes and you are very undiplomatically informed of the minimum charge.
Chances are, 2 european women going for after-dinner drinks at 10pm are likely to order 2 drinks anyway, which would have covered the cost. To make matters worse, categorically the worst Margarita and Aperol Spritz we have had in Bangkok, charged at double of places we had really good ones. Over-hyped and very under-delivered!
I have previously loved this bar, stayed for over 2 weeks on the Club Floors the last 4 months, this has turned it all around for me. Byebye Banyan Tree. I won’t be returning!
