We were very happy with our first experience here. We tried the bean dip and the queso fundito with chorizo. The chorizo had terrific flavor. We ended up putting it in the bean dip and it was amazing.

I had the cheese enchiladas with pork and red sauce on top. Wow. Very good. Their rice is on point. It was fluffy and moist and flavorful! I am picky about rice, because too many places serve dry, tasteless rice.

Their salsa is SO good. A little heat but nothing crazy. Tons of flavor and tastes very fresh. The chips were fresh and crunchy.

We really enjoyed everything and the prices were great. Our server was friendly and made sure we didn’t run out of chips or drinks. Will be back.

UPDATE: great lunch menu with good price and large portion.

This is a newly open Mexican restaurant in Chickasha, very busy. Apparently local likes this place. We went in on Friday night around 0800pm, seated right away but we waited for a while to have our server. She seems busy but other servicer also helped out. They’re a lot of selections on the food choices. Food plate was hot but the food itself was warm. Excellent price, food doesn’t have much flavor but the tequila plata sauce on the table is awesome. This is a non-spicy, healthy Mexican restaurant.

Came for the HUGE Leg Lamp and awesome Holiday Light display. Thanks to Google Roulette (and a local)for the suggestion to try this restraunt suggestion of Tequila Plata. I had Carnita’s which is my Gold Standard for Mexican food. OMG!! One of the best I’ve ever had…..The girls had Enchiladas and Chili Releno. They confirmed the Goodness as well!

Place is clean, well lit, good service, and delicious food. Overall, if you’re in Chickasha, and are hangry for some South of the Border delicacies, give Tequila Plata a shot. It wont disappoint!

I don’t understand the rave reviews of this establishment, must’ve been from people who clearly don’t appreciate the true authentic taste of Mexican food. Probably the same people who rave about Ted’s or other chain Mexican restaurants. The food is not that good.
The chips and salsa is good, has a lot cilantro, we also order the Mezcal dip, which has cheese, beans and ground beef.

Wife had the beef fajitas, the meat was tough, overcooked in our opinion.
I had a combination one with 2 enchiladas and beef taco. We weren’t impressed the food, the service was great and it’s nice spacious seating. You be the judge.

So I will start with the bad: 10-15 min wait and they were not busy, this is not horrible but could be improved. The service was slow, it took longer than it should to be waited on and even slower on refills.

Now for the good: It seemed very reasonably priced. The salsa with the setup tasted great. My wife and I both had soft drinks and they were good. I ordered a queso fundido from the menu and this was excellent. I also asked for a spicier salsa and when they brought it, it was more of a taco sauce than a salsa. When I ordered my meal I got the chili verde and a chili rellano al a carte. The chili rellano was awesome. The chili verde was good but did not have that sour tomatillo kick I was wanting (a little mild in my opinion). My wife ordered the chimichanga and she was very pleased with it.

Overall the presentation was good and so was the food. I will eat here again but I do hope the service improves.

I think half the high school staff decended upon this restaurant for lunch today They kept up when it was very busy! We all ordered different items and everyone was happy! The rice and beans were some of the best I’ve had. Salsa was exceptional! Wonderful job!
Update-Brought my whole family back with me. Still fantastic!

My husband and I tried this place on a Friday night. It was very busy with a long wait, so we decided to sit at the bar. The service was good, everyone was friendly and attentive, frequently checking to see if we needed anything.

Since it was our first visit, we weren’t familiar with how some of the dishes were prepared. I usually order a steak chimichanga when we go out for Mexican food, expecting the typical steak and cheese filling. However, this restaurant prepares it differently. Instead of steak and cheese, the chimichanga is filled with fajita steak, peppers, and onions, all wrapped in a tortilla and fried. Some people may enjoy it this way, but it’s the only place we’ve been to that makes it like this, and we weren’t aware beforehand. I wanted to mention this in my review so others know what to expect. The menu description simply says it’s a flour tortilla stuffed with your choice of grilled meat, deep fried, and topped with cheese sauce. It also comes with rice, beans, and the usual pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream on the side.

The salsa was good. The queso portion was large enough for an entire table, it was thin and runny but still flavorful. The chips and tortillas were good as well.

I’ve only been twice, the first time by myself and the second with my wife. The mlwas okay, the price was good. However, both time I felt like my presence was a both waiter was short and not very welcoming. The nice staff person was the cashier who seated me the first time I went. The nicest people in the restaurant ere other customers we met while checking out. Needless to say I won’t bother going back. As an Afro-Mexician American I can cook my own food.
