Culaccino – Yards
We visited the new Culaccino location in Nashville and loved it. We’ve been to the Franklin location before, so we already knew the food would be great — and it absolutely was. The attention and service were excellent, and everything was delicious as always.
This is one of the very few places where I actually eat pasta, and it never disappoints.
The only thing to keep in mind is that they charge a 3% fee if you pay with a credit card. I hadn’t experienced that before at a restaurant, so it was a bit unexpected, but overall the experience was still wonderful.
I popped back in for a few drinks a few nights later and had an awesome time being served by Sam who was extremely friendly and willing to indulge my questions and custom drink requests.
The gnocchi was really good, hit the spot. It was hearty and full of flavor, perfect for a cold evening.
I ordered the ricotta appetizer which ended up being different than I expected, but was really good. Essentially fried ricotta with red sauce. Too much food for 1 person!
The complimentary bread with house made whipped ricotta was super good. Should not have ate it all before the other two dishes, but that’s how good it was, couldn’t stop.
The espresso old fashioned they have on menu is very good, personally I recommend adding liquor 43 for a touch of sweetness. Enjoyed all the drinks I had from the menu and their wine.
Great spot for Italian in Nashville. If possible, sit at the bar so you potentially have the opportunity to chat with Sam.
The bad: still and sparkling water will run you $9 each. We were asked if we wanted still, sparkling, or flat water. I answered still, assuming it was tap water and would be free. Nothing about the water price was mentioned. Surprisingly, 20% of our final bill ended up being water, which knocked a whole star off of this review.
The good: parking was validated in the Nashville Yards East garage for 2 hours. Plus, the Pappardelle with lamb bolognese was delicious. I would come back just for that dish, but it was pricey at $26.
The pizza was earthy and tasted good, but it was a bit dry without red sauce and the dough was a little underbaked on the sides. My husband enjoyed it though, and it was only $15 compared to the $26 pasta.
The ambiance was pleasant. This would make a nice date night.
We will be back! However, I will definitely be asking for the FREE water next time and not the $9 water.
From the host stand to the servers to the kitchen crew, everyone was dialed in. They stayed a step ahead all night, and it made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I didn’t catch our server’s name, but the service across the room looked just as solid.
We sampled a good portion of the menu. The pork shank was my top pick, no question. The pizzas and pastas were excellent, and the chicken was one of the moistest I’ve had anywhere. We went back Saturday and it was just as moist. Try the ravioli. My wife loved it!
Big credit to Chef Frank Pullara. His dishes are loaded with flavor and you can tell he puts real thought and pride into every plate.
The four of us walked out full and happy. Culaccino has been a favorite in Franklin for years, and the new Nashville Yards spot is already living up to it. Right across from the Pinnacle. Lots of parking options and they offer two hour complimentary parking at the host stand.
We’ll be back soon!
