Normally it’s decent bbq ribs, I called in to tell the manager that my half rack of ribs was extremely greasy and he said “I’m sorry,” That was basically it I work in a refinery we can’t just bring them back especially if my commute is 1 hr. The ribs normally have a smoke ring, these didnt and I eat here all the time. To me these seem like they were overcooked and slathered in grease they are literally dripping with grease and it took them 1 min to give me the order when it usually take 10-15 minutes I knew something was off. For $30 I expect more. Look at that grease puddle.

Was some exceptionally good barbecue Especially for the price very cheap. I was not a fan of using the kiosk because it actually didn’t get my order, right But the food that it gave me was all delicious. So I guess all in all no real complaints

Save your money. We ordered a regular baked potato and a pulled pork sandwich we thought we couldn’t go wrong. The potato was dry as dirt. They give you about a teaspoon of sour cream and butter and a dash of bagged shredded cheese. Extra butter is 50 cents. The pulled pork was fine but their spicy bbq sauce is not spicy just added black pepper but still too sweet overall

Decided to give this place a try while I shopped at HEB. It was the worst bbq I’ve had in my entire life. I ordered the 2 meat plate double brisket with beans and mac n cheese.

The brisket was moist but was too sweet. It didn’t taste good at all with all the sweetness. The beans tasted like canned beans, not cooked all the way through and also incredibly sweet, nothing like bbq beans should taste. The mac n cheese was also disgusting. It was mushy and tasted like something out of a package, very gritty and powdery. I spent close to $20 and am very disappointed. I do not recommend this place at all.

True Texas Barbecue outside the HEB in Manvel is one of my favorite places to eat. I come here almost every Friday because the food is just that good. The fatty brisket is amazing, the burnt ends are perfect, and the turkey is always juicy and full of flavor. Everything on the menu is good, you really can’t go wrong with anything you order.

When they have the loaded elote, get it. It is a limited time item but it is easily one of the best sides they have ever offered. Great food, friendly staff, and always consistent quality. Definitely one of the best barbecue spots in the area.

It was easy to order and served up fast. Tastes okay for a quick BBQ burger. I have had onions on two occasions. Both times they were soft and far from fresh. Recommend you cut up fresh onion daily as well as the soft pickles.

Disappointed. Ordered a 2 meat plate with sausage and brisket and an iced tea. Plate shows up with one piece of brisket and a sausage link. The flavor was ok, but brisket seemed to be more like pot roast than pit smoked BBQ brisket. For $23 I would have expected much more. The price of this is rivaling other barbecue restaurants that have made Texas Top 50, this wasn’t worth the dollars spent.

This was my first time eating at one of these and from the road I thought it was an actual restaurant I can sit in to eat. Turns out it’s a order either at the kiosks or online, then pick up your food to eat elsewhere. They do have a little patio area with a few tables, see my pictures, but the day I went it was 100° so no. Kiosk experience was not great as I tried five times with two different credit cards but the chip reader on the kiosk would not work. So the only way to pay is to then go inside the H-E-B wait in line at the self-checkout scan my little barbecue receipt and pay there. That was also less than optimal because I grabbed a couple other things while I was in there anyway, and when I hit pay now, the self-checkout hung up. The friendly H-E-B assistant came over and advised me that if you’re paying for barbecue you have to do it separate from any other groceries. Then I headed back out and finally got my food.
So here’s the good part, the food is excellent:
Lean brisket-moist, flavorful, just the right smoke, and a perfect bark.
Smoked Turkey – I am a smoked turkey freak and this just might be the best I’ve ever had.
Cream Corn – delicious almost gravy like cream, and a nice little bit of char on the kernels
Coleslaw – good with just the right amount of moisture, but this is the one thing that was just kind of bland I feel like it needed some seasoning.
Sweet BBQ Sauce – not my favorite, to me there was something odd about the flavor, but honestly I’m a bad judge of sauce because if the meat is good – and here the meat is superb – I just don’t use sauce. I only tried it for this review and I just dipped bread in it.
– speaking of bread, they gave two slices but it’s just regular white sandwich bread. To me a Texas BBQ needs to be serving Texas toast size slices of bread, preferably fresh made.
Excellent place I will definitely go again, I need to try the chopped brisket sandwich and the potato salad.

I heard great things about this place and I wanted to try it out. The parking lot was crazy packed so be prepared to drive around until a spot is available.

I ordered rib sausage and brisket plate with potato salad and greens.
There was no flavor on the meat except the sausage. It wasn’t good either and too salty. The greens tasted straight out the can and potato salad was mid. Overall the food was terrible and I drove far to get some good BBQ. I’ll never go back again….

This was sooo good at first! How did we get here!? Scrawny portions that are supposedly ‘weighed’. The brisket is still really good, but the baked potato is the saddest thing I’ve ever seen with two tablespoons of meat. The large sandwich is no different than the standard sandwich, and the sides are quite awful. I’ll go to McDonald’s before I waste my money here again. Their only saving grace is the lemonade and brisket, but you’re only getting a sample regardless of the portion you order on a sandwich or potato… I don’t see them continuing operations at this rate for more than a few more years. The line used to be packed, but now…
