This was my first visit to Cowboy’s. The food was delicious. I had the filet mignon special with a salad and a baked sweet potato. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender. My husband enjoyed the catfish bites with fried okra and Mac and cheese. We will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

This was my second time eating at Cowboy Restaurant in Elkin. I first visited last summer, and it was fantastic — the food was absolutely delicious! My brother-in-law is obsessed with this place. He talks about it so much you’d think he owns it (he doesn’t, but the way he hypes it up, you’d never know).
This time, I ordered the filet, medium rare, with hush puppies, a baked potato, and a side salad. Everything was great, though they did bring the steak out medium well instead of medium rare. That was the only small miss, but honestly, it was still really good.
The service here is fantastic — the staff is friendly, quick, and they really make you feel welcome. On top of that, the restaurant has a very cool country vibe. I love the laid-back atmosphere, and the rocking chairs outside are a perfect touch. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit, relax, and enjoy yourself.
I can definitely see why my brother-in-law can’t get enough of it!

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday @ 1 p.m. It was seat yourself. Servers were quick and friendly often checking up. I liked seeing that the two servers were covering tables for each other. Food was good. Menu seemed to be a lot of deep fried items except for steak. We had the flounder sandwiches. The flounder itself was great. However the “sandwich” was a bun with tartar sauce and the flounder. We just at the flounder w/o the bun. It was a good size piece of flounder and we both took pieces home.

Honestly, the only thing that stopped it from being 5⭐️ was the burger bun was a little dry and kept refilling tea but not with ice. That’s the only 2 things I can really call them out on. Fried mushrooms we’re special The cowboy burger would’ve been outstanding with the correct bread to complement it. Fried catfish w/ fried squash and slaw was fantastic. Even down to the cocktail and tarter sauces, which I always appreciate when made in house and w/ care. Dang good bottled beer selection as well. Will def be back to enjoy this local gem.

I went to Cowboys for lunch. I try to start with a positive. The staff I encountered was very friendly and polite. The food portions were good, but the flavors were off. I order a hamburger, fries, and an appetizer of breaded mushrooms. The coating on the mushrooms was salty and the breading had no flavor. The burger was dry as was the crumbly bun. Had to drown the burger in A1 to eat it. The fries were excellent. Later that day I didn’t feel well after the meal. Left over 3/4 of the mushrooms as they were awful.
When I told the lady at the register, she just shrugged her shoulders. She didn’t seem surprised by the complaint.

Tried to eat here. Watched 2 tables that came in AFTER us get water, menus and orders taken before we were even acknowledged. We left. Nobody noticed.
