I’ve been a regular at BIRD in Guiseley since the day it opened, and I’ve visited more than 20 times now. Every single time, the experience has been fantastic. I’ve brought friends and colleagues from Japan, England, Italy, Poland—even guests from India—and without exception, they’ve all loved it. That says a lot!

In my honest opinion, BIRD serves the most authentic Indian food I’ve tasted in Leeds. The flavors stay true to proper North Indian cuisine—rich, vibrant, and deeply satisfying. It’s not just a meal; it’s a taste of home.

Wishing the team all the very best—your consistency and quality are truly commendable!

Just one small request: it would be great to see a few more vegetarian options on the menu. And please bring back the Gunpowder Potatoes—they were a real favorite!

We absolutely love visiting the Bird. It is the best takeaway of its kind nearby and even better to sit in and enjoy the wonderful service by all of the kind and friendly staff. This time we had the Chicken 65, Adraki Lamb Chops, Railway Lamb Curry and the Seabass and they were all incredible!

We visited for the simple fact it serves Non-Halal authentic Panjabi food and that is VERY hard to find in Yorkshire. We weren’t disappointed neither!

The food is locally sourced and you can tell the difference and in the quality of the food.

We went for a mixture of starters, as they don’t do a Mixed Grill as such, but were amazed at the quality of the produce. The marinades were icing on the cake for the meats and Salmon that were cooked in the tandoor to perfection!

Up came the main course, both veg and non-veg, of which we were almost already full from the starters! Couldn’t help but wanting the fireworks of flavours to continue exploding on our mouths and it did! For us, the starters stole the show!

You get what you pay for and we noticed it in our food. The hospitality, courtesy and politeness of the staff was amazing so thank you to the front line staff too! The chefs have done a great job and I can only say that I’m SO happy to have an authentic Panjabi restaurant that caters for consumers that don’t eat halal, Thank you, The Bird and I can’t wait to come back!

We had the following:-

Starters
Paani poori shots
Samosa Papdi Chaat
Malai Paneer Tikka

Chicken tikka Kabab
Chicken cream cheese tikka
Mustard Fish Tikka
Adraki Lamb Chop

Mains
Paneer Methi Matar Malai
Panjabi Chana Masala

Rajasthani laal maas
Chicken Tikka Karahi

Sides
Tandoori Roti
Garlic Coriander Naan
Chilli Garlic Naan

I will try and keep this short and sweet.

I have eaten a ridiculous amount of curries over the years, and for me Bird, (and although completely different), The International on Sticker Lane in Bradford, are two of my absolute favourites. Bird just better tbh.

My friend recommended Bird to me, so I went with my partner and two kids.

I asked them all at the end of the meal, “what are you marks out of ten then ???”

They all quickly replied 10/10. The quality of the chicken, especially in the various Chicken Tikka etc starters we had, was Premier League quality !

It was outstanding – check out the pics

First time eating here. Great food and service. non halal meat so great for us as being Sikh as not many places now serving non halal meat in Indian restaurants. We had lamb curry which was melt in the mouth and spiced lovely.Also had chicken curry and makni dhal. Could fault any of the dishes and all tasted authentic. Restaurant not massive so early booking recommended
Will be going again.

Checked out the newly renovated last night and it sure didn’t disappoint. It’s just been taken over by new owners and they’ve definitely improved the restaurant and the menu too.

The menu doesn’t include all the ‘ standard/basic’ British Indian dishes anymore instead it’s a completely refreshed menu with lots of tasty dishes to choose from.

The dishes we went for..

* Assorted Poppadom with Pickle Tray
* Lamb Seekh Kebab
* Tandoori Chilli & Garlic Prawns
* Butter Chicken
* Rajasthani Laal Maas
* Garlic Coriander Naan
* Steam Rice
* Chips

* Lychee Paradise
* Virgin Mojito

I can’t even fault a single dish as they were all bursting with flavours and the lamb was literally melting in the mouth from the Rajasthani Laal Maas .

If you’re local to Guiseley or love a curry just as much as me and willing to drive a little then I’d definitely recommend this place to try out!

The staff were lovely shout out to Kunal for inviting us along to try the gorgeous food out & also thanks to the chefs who cooked us up a storm!

If you take a look the menu you’ll see it’s very reasonably priced especially for the quality of food you’re getting!

Get yourself down to this place it’s the best curry in Guiseley and one of the best curries I’ve had in a long time!

Food was nice and tasty, but the railway lamb dish was too fatty considering it’s £12.50. Good service from the waiter who gave a 10% discount on the bill which was very much appreciated. However the restaurant was very cold (first week of Jan) which made it a little uncomfortable. I would go again to see if things improve.
