First time trying the food here during a busy late lunch hour, and surprisingly there was no lineup. Since I only had a short lunch break, I decided to give it a try.
I ordered the lunch promo: Thai basil stir-fried pork with a fried egg, plus a choice of spring roll or drink, for $13.88 before tax. What I received, however, was just pork slices in some kind of sauce – I honestly don’t know what it was, but it definitely wasn’t Thai basil pork.
Please don’t bother replying to this review with a generic response. Head office really needs to do better quality control across its franchises. I’ve tried other Thai Express locations before, and the food is often low quality with very meagre ingredients.
I should’ve known better when there was no lineup during a normally busy time.

I stopped by Thai Express at the mall for a quick lunch and left with mixed feelings. The service was fast and friendly — my order was ready in under 10 minutes, which is great for a food court spot. The menu offers a good variety of classic Thai dishes and you can choose your spice level, which I appreciated.
Overall, Thai Express is fine if you’re craving Thai-style flavors on the go, but don’t expect authentic restaurant-quality dishes. It’s quick, convenient, and hits the spot in a pinch, but there’s room for improvement in freshness and texture.

I’ve been to the Thai Express at Markville Mall several times now, and it never disappoints! Despite being a busy food court location, they consistently serve up fresh and flavourful dishes.The Pad Thai is always well-balanced with the perfect amount of sauce, fresh bean sprouts, and your choice of protein. The portion size is generous and filling . Fast service – even when there’s a lineup, the cooks work efficiently at the woks and get your food out quickly. Customizable spice level – you can ask for mild, medium, or hot depending on your preference.
Fresh ingredients – the vegetables always taste crisp and the noodles are cooked just right. My usual order: Chicken Pad Thai with spring rolls. The staff are generally friendly and patient when taking orders. For quick, satisfying Thai food in the middle of a shopping trip, this spot is hard to beat. Definitely recommend giving them a try!

I bought a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and it was all fatty chicken; the whole bowl was filled with chicken fat. The chicken itself was bland and tasteless. For nearly $18 after tax, couldn’t they even spare a little chicken breast? The cashier was incredibly rude.

She decided to get a chicken pad thai from this spot. Frankly, I didn’t have high expectations as the bar for Thai food has been set quite high by some of the authentic spots I’ve been to.
My gf told me there was a Thai Express on her campus back in her uni days that actually hooked her up with the chubbiest portions so it held some sentimental value.
I kept my expectations rather low in all fairness.
When she got her order and tried some, I was pleasantly surprised! Obviously it wasn’t among the best we’ve had but I could definitely taste tamarind in the sauce (very important) and no ketchup. There was also a good amount of toppings and protein running through it and the overall portion was nice and big.
It was actually a fairly decent pad thai attempt!

The loud atmosphere of the mall doesn’t reflect the wonderful service provided. The woman who took our order was friendly, funny, and patient with us while we decided on what to get… 4 fresh spring rolls. They tasted great, and I loved the peanut sauce that came with them. Super filling as well. Great job!

I ordered the Pad Thai within chicken. When I open the box, inside the box only come with 3-4pcs chicken slides only, fry noodles suppose no sause but they made look like noodles in soup (see the pics shown). Taste so sour, no good. Crazy is they charged $14.28 plus tax. Omg…..no more.

Located inside the food court in Markville Mall. Strongly recommend this restaurant if you are hungry for quick, tasty and high quality Asian food. Superb customer service. The lady at the cashier was very friendly, helpful and polite! Will definitely return!

Went in after ordering an Uber pickup. The bag was packed with no cutlery, no napkins and I had to ask for everything. I asked for an extra fork so I can give my kid a little bite, but was denied. Horrible service and attitude. Never going here again.
