Update on my review! I got the lunch special with wings. I had my daughter with me and st the end didn’t have enough hands to carry her and the food. Brittany helped me by bringing my food to my car. It wasn’t expected at all but that customer service was incredibly appreciative! She also suggested the garlic butter wings and they’re amazing! So glad this is close to us.
Then came the fried cheese curds, and let me just say… hallelujah, praise the cheese gods. Crispy, melty perfection. These curds healed childhood trauma I didn’t even know I had. If you go, order them. Trust me.
Then…the bruschetta arrived, and that’s when my evening took a turn. The tomatoes were so overripe and mushy I thought they were auditioning for a role in The Walking Dead. Look at these photos….
These tomatoes didn’t just die, they gave up on life days ago. They were basically tomato ghosts, and when my garden salad showed up with the exact same sad slices, I knew someone in the kitchen is out here fighting a losing battle with produce.
Final thoughts…
Cheese curds = FIRE
Tomatoes = wellness check
Zeppoles = confused but has potential
Service = good
Will I go back??? Yes, but I’ll be avoiding tomatoes like they’re my ex
Famulari’s, I still believe in you, but please release those tomatoes to the afterlife.
I placed an order for pickup by calling in. The lady over the phone was good with taking my order and patient as it was my first time trying this place out. I used the “Welcome to the neighborhood” coupon for a one time free 18′ pizza. I had to pay for toppings which came out to about $5.40, which was fine. I got there and the gentleman at the front counter was cool. The atmosphere of the restaurant was chill, nothing bad about the in-person experience at all. The pizza looked good when I glanced at it in my car. It was around 8:55 pm and my first time eating all day so I was super hungry. I was really disappointed to find that the bottom was very burnt. I ate it because I don’t like wasting food, but even with the quality toppings, it was extremely unpleasant to eat and the crust was just too tough and bitter to finish. I was bummed out because I probably would’ve easily given it a 4 or 5 star but when you mess up an element like the cook or the sauce on a pie, you really can’t fix it. It is what it is. But if you get the chance, try this place out. Don’t let my comment stop you. Just telling my experience. If anything, check your pizza before you leave. They may fix it for you if you find that it is burnt. That is if you feel like waiting for a re-fire ♂️. Take Care.
Unfortunately, the rest of the takeout experience was disorganized and far more time-consuming than expected.
When I called back to place the order, I spoke with multiple employees who were unclear on the promotion, despite prior approval. Once the order was finally placed (6pm), I was told the wait time would be about an hour, which felt reasonable for a Friday evening.
When we arrived at the quoted time (7pm), we were told it would be another 20 minutes and were asked to pay at that point. After waiting for 30 minutes, we checked again and were told the order was still being worked on. We ultimately received our food after waiting for 45 mins, an hour and forty-five minutes after placing the order.
What made the experience more frustrating was the lack of communication or acknowledgment of the delay. When the food was handed to us, there was no apology or explanation. While we were told that a staff member had not shown up for their shift, from a customer perspective it felt like the restaurant was far behind without a clear handle on timing.
The pizza itself was good. The wings were a bit overcooked, and the mild sauce was spicier than expected, but the main issue was not the food — it was the wait time and communication.
Hopefully this was an off night, but based on this experience, I would be hesitant to order takeout on a busy Friday (or maybe even dine in because it seemed the people dining in were also feeling it) unless there was a strong promotion or a specific craving for this style of pizza.
Better communication and more realistic time estimates would have gone a long way toward improving the experience.
The spinach cheesy bread is phenomenal and the XL Angry Hawiian with red onion and provolone cheese was excellent as well.
Pro tip: depending on whether you’re looking to reheat the pizza mainly as leftovers or eat it in the store, having them make it well done (especially on the XL) is a must because it gives it a great crust.
Service was prompt and while there was a bit more wait than you might get elsewhere (about 30 minutes for the cheesy bread) the quality and taste is unmatched.
They’ve done a great job on the renovations and the bathrooms especially now “aren’t weird” – according to my fiance. Overall, I’m glad they’re back and better than ever!
Pizza could’ve been cooked a bit longer, ingredients could’ve been a little better, but overall would stop back when they weren’t busy – not on a Friday night
