I stopped in Russell for an overnight stay on my way to Denver. Dinner choices aren’t plentiful but I did see Peking Garden as an option. I ordered their house fried rice which included shrimp, chicken and beef. I also ordered their egg rolls. You had to order by phone and when they picked up I honestly had a hard time understanding them but I was able to get the order made. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes. So I got ready and drove over there but got there a little early. When I went to the restaurant it wasn’t very impressive and the door into the restaurant wasn’t very stable. But I was met by a very friendly waitress and my meal was already packaged. I paid and went back to my hotel. Bottom line is this meal was one of the best I’ve had. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. Hard to imagine a Chinese restaurant like this in Russel, KS but it is definitely worth stopping and getting some amazing food. I will be heading back that way and will order again from these wonderful folks.

This is the type of Mom & Pop of restaurant we love to support. It’s not fancy, it’s clean, comfortable and just homey. The food was Great! The portions are plentiful and FRESH! Thanks for a super delicious meal folks!

We went for supper on Saturday night. (Menu orders only at this time.) The steamed dumplings are wonderful. Hot and sour soup is delicious. My husband gets lo mein every time and it’s consistently good. Garlic chicken and curry chicken are wonderful. Not too spicy. & The service was great!!

Are you passing through a small town and want some quality food? Do you LIVE in a small town and want some quality food? Peking Garden is the place for you!
I ordered the beef and broccoli which is my go to, and it was great! The meat was tender(but still fully cooked) and the broccoli was cooked just enough to not be hard, without feeling wilted.
My coworker ordered the beef and peppers and I have to say, it smelled fantastic. I’m not going to be rude and steal her food, but my gosh I was tempted.
The ingredients for both meals tasted fresh and the rice didn’t taste like it had been sitting for hours. All in all, a great meal.
The staff were very friendly, wore masks, and volunteered to-go boxes when they noticed we were slowing down on our eating. The checkout process was easy and they even had the option to email our receipt. The older woman working was very nice and made small talk on the way out. If I pass through again, I’m definitely stopping at Peking Garden!

I was passing through and needed a quick supper so I got some dumplings and soup to go. Price was fair, and it was fast. The dumplings were nicely fried and weren’t soggy with oil. Dipping sauce was just ok, not spicy at all. The hot and sour soup was a real disappointment. It wasn’t very spicy, and it had more of a stew-like broth to it. Plus, it was weirdly sweet instead of savory. And no mushrooms could be found.

This place is great! Operated by the same family for at least the last 25 years has resulted in spot on perfect food. You can’t go wrong stopping by and stuffing yourself with food.

Only about 1-2 miles off I-70 is this great little Chinese place. The waitress was also our cook and she was very friendly and quick with making my food. The General Tso chicken was delicious and spicy. The crab Rangoons were sweet and flavorful. I highly recommend.
