We have been watching as El Indio built out this brand-new location, and had the perfect opportunity to stop in for family dinner on a Friday night. We were greeted promptly at the door and escorted to our seat on the patio. Our server, Griselda, promptly checked on us and got us started with drinks and chips.
Our food order came out of the unique kitchen/food truck setup and was delicious and piping hot! All the things we look for in a quality Mexican restaurant experience — highly recommended!

Visited today during their soft-opening.
Friendly, abundant service.
Generous food and beverage portions at fair value pricing.
Excellent Margaritas.
Drive thru lane for quick pickups.
Of note is the large outdoor dining area, which is dog-friendly, and the ample indoor seating.
Additionally, there is a full-service bar and salsa bar within the main building.

We’ve been enjoying El Indio in Gainesville for many years! Super excited to have a full sit-down restaurant with a full bar here closer to home in Jonesville! Abby was our server the two times we’ve been and she was absolutely amazing! Very attentive, professional and polite. Juan made us some of the best drinks we’ve ever had and we can’t wait to go again. Food was delicious as expected with many new options that the other locations do not have.

This was our first night at the new El Indio location in Newberry and it did not disappoint. We grabbed seats at the bar and Chris made us some amazing cocktails, the staff was friendly, and service was fast. Highly recommend this spot! Looking forward to going back.

I used to eat at El Indio on 13st a block north of University Ave 20 years ago when my grandparents lived outside of Gainesville we would drive down from Georgia to see them. I always remember the food being great and it stills lives up to the memory after all this time. They opened up a location on north 34th St and now one in Jonesville is beautiful and has plenty of TVs and heaters outside on the patio. The location is nice and the food is even better. Authentic Mexican food and even have good cheeseburgers as well. My favorite items are the chicken quesadillas, the shredded beef tacos and the ground beef enchiladas. The food is great and the staff is friendly. A very successful small business with mom and pop style roots. Highly recommended if you like Mexican and are tired of the big underwhelming chain restaurants.

I know they’ve just opened and are figuring out all the new kinks with drive through and staffing but overall I’ve been very impressed! Good service and you can see the food being cooked fresh right in front of you through the food truck. I love their breakfast burritos. Hefty in size and packed with food and flavor. I also think everything is up to par with the cost, will be definitely back

We visited on their second night open to the public, and the food was absolutely great! We’ve been big fans of El Indio for years, and now that they’ve opened this new location close to our home, we’re excited to say we’ll definitely be regulars. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Overall, an awesome experience!

We arrived about dinner time on Tuesday, March 2nd. It was very busy. Parking was not impossible but took some extra effort to find something, the receptionist at the front door sat us quickly. What happened? Was a surprise. We must have sat there for a good 10 or 15 minutes and nobody seemed to notice that we were even there. There didn’t seem to be enough waiters/ Waitresses to handle the size of the crowd that they had at the time. We tried to be patient considering the circumstances, however we were about to get up and walk out when. Ricardo showed up. He said he’d noticed we had no service and wanted to know if anybody had talked to us yet and we explained the situation to him. Ricardo took over, brought us our drinks, took our order, apologized profusely, and got our order out to us in a very timely fashion. Timely fashion. I can’t say enough about Ricardo’s attitude and willingness to work. He was all over the place trying to help as many people as he could. Aside from that, the food was excellent. The atmosphere was perfect and for somebody that had to come all the way from Alachua just to find a good place to eat other than the few that we are stuck with here, it turned out to be a good experience, because of Ricardo. I can’t imagine what this place is like on the weekend, but if I was you I would give them a try and be patient with them because the food is great and the people overall are great.

I had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and taken care of. My server, Gricelda, was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and very professional. She made great recommendations and checked on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was perfect.
The food was full of authentic flavor—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. You can tell they really care about quality and customer service. The atmosphere was vibrant and clean, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family or friends.
I left completely satisfied and excited to return. Highly recommended, especially with excellent service from Gricelda!
