If you’re thinking:
Texas, premium Wagyu beef, and a mom-and-pop eatery, this is your stop.
3 weeks ago I had the Umami Burger with house fries and a white chocolate cranberry cookie. The experience was so compelling. I can’t wait to try it again!
Starting with the burger bun, the quality of it prepares you for this special ride.
The locally sourced jam, along with the Wagyu patty, are the highlights. It creates such unique sequence of flavors. For the next 20 minutes life feels like bliss. Last but not least, the house fries are thinly sliced and have a super clean crispy end note, which completes this burger experience.
As a bonus: The white chocolate cranberry cookie had a soft, moist, chewy center with a crispy exterior. The taste was overwhelmingly great.
Must have the cookie after the burger!
Hospitality was great!.
Had the chance to meet Chef Dustin, who is very passionate about the ingredients that inspired the plates.
Atmosphere: Serene, mellow, with happy vibes

Old time feel and REALLY good food. We order four totally different dishes. All were graded 5STARS. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the burger. It’s homemade I wished I order that. If in Waller, hempstead or Prairie View it is definitely a good lunch stop. You will not be disappointed. Not a large inside but that’s just fine because the food is delicious. Stop in and enjoy. Prove me wrong, order the burger and tell me different

The food is outstanding. I had the soup of the day and a salad for appetizers. My entree was the salmon. The side of homemade pickles were delicious. Had a bite of my son’s burger also delicious. We came for a family event and the did not disappoint here. Anything you order you cannot go wrong. Love that it is a family operated and owned the family is so sweet and nice. You must get the lemon blueberry bread pudding !!!

A nondescript building in a nondescript town with amazing food and staff. Had the All American Burger and was hands down one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. In Texas that is saying something. Pair the great food with the lovely staff and Barq’s Root Beer in a glass bottle. Definitely a fan.

What an amazing place! Great service, but even greater food. You know when the table gets quiet, the food is off the chart yum! Had we not started off with the white macadamia cranberry cookie, I would’ve been able to polish off my Yardbird burger and tots. Park on Main Street and my a beeline to their door. Don’t be fooled by the simple seating, there is a creative genius putting these sandwiches and burger menus together. No fast food here. And it’s really Soooo fresh! My mouth is still delighting in the memory of this delicious food experience. Go make your own memory — you won’t soon forget it either!

We got off the interstate after a 10 hour drive and needed something for a late lunch and Eji’s absolutely blew it out of the park. The cubano, umami burger, and chicken tenders were all delicious and definitely filling. The atmosphere was perfectly “small town” and – coming from a small town ourselves – we felt right at home. If you’re nearby, passing through, or just looking for something new, definitely give Eji’s a try!

I am confident that the hostess, server and chef were the same person, and I mean that in the best way. This was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The best burger near Houston, if you think the drive might be too far, it isn’t. 10/10 Umami Burger and Tots… blown away!
