Argana opened on W 23rd Street earlier in the year, though I did not have a chance to try it before it burned down. The photos and article I read really made me sad I never had a chance to try it.
Fast forward to this week, I read an article in the LJW which advised Argana had moved into the old ‘Wake the Dead’ spot on E 7th.
Decided to place a take out order and chose the argana meat combo entree which came with soup and a salad. I love baba ghanoush and ordered a side which came with warm pita bread. The food was ready in fifteen minutes and the owner, Yasine, greeted me by name upon arrival. They’ve got a really nice space, which includes some smaller rooms offering more privacy. Yasine also offered me a chance to try the Moroccan spiced meatballs. They were very nicely seasoned and I look forward to ordering them as an entree next time.
Once I got home, I likely ate way more food than I should have, but everything was delicious. The salad was fresh, soup was nicely seasoned and the meats tender.
I look forward to my next visit to Argana and hope they succeed in this difficult business climate!

Love visiting Argana Cafe! The food is flavorful and not too heavy. The falafel is the best I’ve ever had, the order comes with more…we had already sampled some before I took the picture.

I’m obsessed with this food! The complimentary tea while we were waiting for our order was wonderful. The chicken shawarma entree was HUGE and amazing (chicken was slightly dry but flavorful and the sauce it came with was delicious). The hummus is great. The meat trio entree was fantastic. And don’t even get me started on the Baklava. It was delicious and extremely unique! Can’t wait to come back and try more!

This place is fantastic!!! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful. It’s bright and breezy while still being romantic and well-decorated. I had the chicken shawarma wrap with the side salad and both were excellent. Just the right amount of spicy! I would give it six stars if I could. Plus it’s right across from the Raven, so you can grab a book to read over lunch.

I’m a big foodie who’s travelled and tasted cuisines all over the world. Mediterranean being my favorite, I don’t think I’ve tasted better Lamb and Beef gyros. Combine it with the authentic couscous and you’ve got yourself a real Moroccan experience. My son loves their Shawarma and Fries!!! They’ve got something for every age group. The owner is a real nice person.

The lamb shanks special was fall off the bone meat and perfectly spiced. Hot tea was excellent although they claim to mix up the spice mix in it so you might have a different experience. Fresh pita bread, lovely salad and falafels to complement your meal. Lentil soup was yum as well.

We had the lamb shank and beef kofta sandwich. Both of them were really good. The service could have been better. We had to do everything ourselves from ordering the food at the counter to getting the silverware, to-go boxes etc. They only brought the food to our table but we had to tip them like regular. I read other reviews where people were offered tea while waiting, nothing like that was offered to us. Overall we will go back for the food but not for the service.

I almost never write reviews, but it was the first thing I wanted to do after taking a bite of my shawarma wrap. It was flavorful, fresh, and above all delicious! The decor is bright and welcoming, and the customer service is great both over the phone and in person. This is my new favorite local restaurant.

I have eaten here multiple times now. I have tried their signature are gonna meat platter, the lamb shank, and the Gyro platter. Every single piece of food was amazing, the only adjustments I had to make was to add a little salt to the lentils. The price is reasonable for a Mediterranean café compared with anyone else in town. But the best value on the menu is the argon a meat platter which gives you a generous portion of chicken lamb and beef

I got the beef and lamb gyro and lentil soup. The food came out quickly and was absolutely incredible. The place itself is very beautifully decorated and the staff are very nice. Everything is spaced out and there are private rooms you can go into as well. I 100% recommend eating here.
