This is our first time coming here for brunch. It was great! We sat at the bar and Alannah is always very nice and accommodating. She provided some refreshing non alcoholic options that tasted delicious. The Espresso Notini was a great non alcoholic alternative for the espresso martini. The lobster omelette was really good. It had Gruyère and spinach with lots of lobster pieces. The steak was good, a bit too much peppercorn for me but my husband really liked it. The best would be the sticky toffee pudding! It was delicious and just added to the menu. It comes with a soft chantillí cream, however they can do ice cream if you prefer. 1000% better than the Hell’s Kitchen sticky toffee pudding.
I would also like to highlight that the atmosphere and service are amazing. The staff, management, and owners are great!

My husband took me here for my birthday. Very cute french-y restaurant. I honestly had low expectations but I was blown away. Every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully executed. delicious from start to finish. The atmosphere was relaxed and not pretentious. The pricing was very reasonable for the quality and experience. Excellent service from our server, Connor. He deserves a shoutout. We will absolutely be back.

Third time here since it opened less than six months ago, and this was our best meal so far. We did the Autumn Tasting Menu with the wine pairing, and everything was delicious, especially the shrimp scampi – which we’d easily have as a main entree. The wine pairings were great choices for each course.

First time we ate in the main room and it was way too loud – I left actually hoarse because of trying to speak to our friends across the table. This time we sat in the back room and it was better. Not sure if they did anything to fix the noise absorption in the main room yet. Also, would be nice if they automatically provided a baguette and butter to each table.

The co-owner and chef, Michael Stebner, is very attentive and makes the rounds to all the tables. Each time we’ve been there he’s done the same, which I’m sure has lent itself to its continuous improvement. Overall a lovely restaurant – fun to visit and great food.

We waited a week after Valentine’s Day to celebrate at Brasserie Royale and left disappointed.

The ambience is beautiful and nicely decorated, and the service was good. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the setting. As someone who used to work in a professional kitchen, I pay attention to execution. The escargot dish was underseasoned, though the crispy brie was good. The steak frites was the biggest letdown- burnt fries, barely any grill marks on the steak, and overall very underseasoned. Honestly, that plate wouldn’t have passed at my former workplace.

Both tables next to us were also having issues with their steaks, which made it feel like quality control just wasn’t there. Overall, we were left disappointed. It simply didn’t live up to the hype.

Loved our Moms dinner last night at Brasserie Royale. It was my first time there and the decor and atmosphere were fantastic for the holidays! We received wonderful service and great recommendations from our male waiter. The food was delicious–do not miss the beat salad or the goat cheese ravioli!!! We had amazing cocktails as well! The acoustics were great for conversation–there was enough of a buzz that we didn’t overhear other tables and they didn’t hear us. Parking was easy on the street or in the large parking lot on the side of the restaurant. Don’t miss this beautiful French restaurant in Sterling!

Walking into Brasserie Royale feels like stumbling upon a charming Parisian retreat tucked into the heart of Sterling’s Cascades Marketplace. The space is airy and bright, with a relaxed elegance — exactly the kind of place you want to linger in. The staff are attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming.

From the first bite, the food lives up to the promise of “classic French flavors.” While the kitchen doesn’t shy away from comfort, there’s a thoughtful freshness in everything.

Julia Child’s French Onion Soup
This rendition is hearty and robust, with sweet caramelized onions and a deeply savory broth. It leans more toward salty than sweet, a touch heavier than some of the lighter, more delicate onion soups out there — but it’s undeniably satisfying.

Escargot
Their escargot is well-executed: rich, buttery, garlicky. The pesto note, however, is a bit more restrained than I’ve enjoyed elsewhere. If you’re looking for a punchier herbal lift, this version feels gentle, but in a refined, understated way.

Lobster Royale
This was the highlight: a beautifully balanced plate where succulent lobster meat meets the bright acidity of grapefruit and the creaminess of avocado. The aioli helps tie it all together without overwhelming. Elegant, composed, and refreshingly modern.

Le Smash Américain Burger
Don’t let “French bistro” fool you — this burger stands out. With juicy double patties, melted Virginia cheddar, and a soft sesame bun, it’s indulgent. The house sauce is special and slightly tangy, though the whole is a little salty. Still, I found myself digging in and smiling.

Overall impression: Brasserie Royale is a delightful new addition to the Northern Virginia dining scene. It strikes a lovely balance between convivial neighborhood bistro and refined French eatery. The food is above average in both taste and execution, and while a few dishes could be tweaked to perfection, the experience left me eager to return — and sample more from their menu.

The food and experience is so good that we returned here at least twice to have lunch.

Miya was our latest server and she provided excellent service. We tried the Garlic herb frites this time, the cream of spinach and the goat cheese ravioli. They all were amazing. The brie cheese appetizer and our entrees were amazing as well.

3 weeks prior, our original review was the following: Lindsey was our server and she was amazing! Also the young lady that was at the hostess desk, she seated us and came to check on us several times. Asked Lindsey for recommendations and what she thought about menu options that peaked our interest. Her answers helped us to decide what we wanted to eat.

The food was amazing. 3 course meal. Started with French onion soup and side salad. We also had non-alcoholic wine.

Entrees, we had steak and halibut. They both were amazing!

My boyfriend and I went to Brasserie Royale in its first three weeks of opening when it was only open for dinner and it was amazing for being such a new restaurant! Our waitress Madison was so nice and gave us recommendations on the menu. The service was amazing and the food tasted so good! It’s so well decorated and definitely feels upscale without the upscale price. Definitely want to go back soon!

Oh boy, wish I would’ve ventured here sooner. This spot is definitely one of my top spots in the DMV. If you want Frenchie style food haha, that is delicious, authentic, and reasonably priced this is it. This place is classy but casual. Perfect for any occasion. Top tier for dating if you are trying to impress Everything from the decor to the food is impeccable. Without sin lol. It is a small spot but doesn’t feel cramped. We were seated in the banquette area which was beautifully designed but may have been the tightest spot to be seated at and it was just fine. While we were there it started to get a little hot and the staff easily accommodate or request to address that issue. Great service all around. Delicious food. Everything was good. Try it all! Perhaps get a reservation because you don’t want to miss a chance to experience this fine place. 10 outta 10 recommend.

This is it! Go tell your neighbors we found the spot lol

Ok, 3rd time here. This is probably my favorite spot. So good I have to keep telling you about it. The food is delicious! just come here and enjoy it. Management, make that Sticky toffee pudding dessert a year round thing. Come on!
