Really the only up scale menu and atmosphere in Deadwood. The food is excellent across the board. HUGE cuts of American Beef and large wine menu give plenty of pairing options. Sea Bass, Shrimp and crab cakes make for great seafood options too. Our server Peyton was amazing!! She knew the menu and specials down pat and did a wonderful job serving our meal. Expect to spend at least $100 per person between appetizers, drinks, main course and desserts.

Party of 10. Our server was young and amazing. We were happy to find fine dining on a Monday night. Everything was amazing! We were seated before our reservation time. Everyone ordered a beverage. Extra water was set on the table without asking, and we all appreciate that very much. The sorbet pallet cleanser between the salad and main course was enjoyable and something we aren’t used to experiencing. The bread and salads were fresh and delicious. All food was executed very well and delicious. Trio of tenderloin, filet Oscar, sea bass, salmon, and the specials including Buffalo Ribeye and Korean short ribs have us a wide sample of meals. Highly recommend Jake’s

Escargot is a must-try (if you’re not scared of eating snails lol). Very buttery and the snails are big/juicy. 10/10.
I was really excited for the scallops. However, I was a bit disappointed in the size of the scallops. It says Jumbo scallops – U10 size, but it was definitely on the smaller end of jumbo ones I’ve had. Scallops were also a bit overcooked and chewy. Luckily all the other elements on the dish go well with the scallops and compliments the protein well. 8/10.
We ordered both steaks for main entrees. Ribeye and Filet Mignon. They’re cooked right. The ribeye has really great sauce on it. 6/10.
The Filet Oscar has huge lumps of crab which was nice. I also love capers and thought that complimented the sauce well. Unfortunately sauce was quite thick, and the steak was drowning in the sauce, making it lose its nice crust. I was only able to get through half of the steak before it got pretty soggy I had to give up. The potato chip was pretty nice and crunchy, mashed potato is a little dry. 5/10.
The place does have a fancy classic atmosphere to it. Nice view by the window from where we sit.
Our server was very nice and attentive.
Overall for the price we paid for the food in this little town, I was hoping to get a close to flawless dish, but it was not the case.

An amazing experience! The staff were exceptional, and the food was both delicious and wonderfully unique.

Our waiter was the most pleasant person I’ve ever encountered in any setting. His service and demeanor could set a new standard in hospitality.

The food was bursting with flavor yet surprisingly light. The lamb was cooked to perfection, and the fish had all the richness of Southern cooking with an elegant twist.

We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and will unquestionably return for more!

This was quite literally the best meal of my life. We had the wild game Trio and it was spectacular. I have eaten at Michelin restaurants around the world and this chef NAILED. Absolutely exquisite and exceptional cooking. The chef is an incredible asset to Deadwood, SD. Love this place!!!

NEXT LEVEL EXPERIENCE! Amazing! One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Top-notch service. Awesome location and atmosphere. Wow! Highly recommend for a fancy dinner.

This is in the top floor of the midnight star right on Main Street, so it’s a bit “hidden” but relatively easy to get to.

The food was amazing. I had short ribs (it was a special so not always available) and they were decadent. They were fall-off-the-bone tender and rich with flavor.

The cheesecake was some of the best I’ve ever had too. It wasn’t overly dense as cheesecake can be, but was instead fluffy and delicate yet still rich and creamy.

The plating and presentation of our whole meal was some of the best I’ve experienced. Immaculate care was taken to ensure a meal that was first a presentation.

Finally, service was awesome. Our waiter was attentive, helpful, and warm.

Highly recommend!!!

Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the sea bass and filet. The seasonal salad was better than my favorite wedge salad back home. The shrimp and lobster bites were also good, the sauce was great!

My wife and I both had the lobster dinner and were surprised at the amount of food we received. In a good way. During the meal I mentioned to my wife that I wish I knew how they seasoned and cooked the lobster because it was absolutely amazing. When heading to the elevator an employee asked how we like our meal and what did we get. I mentioned we had the lobster and it was phenomenal. The employee said he was glad to hear we enjoyed it and then explained the seasoning and exactly how it was cooked before heading back to the kitchen.

They went above and beyond to make a memorable meal absolutely unforgettable.

And it wasn’t just the main course that was amazing. Everything that was food that came out the kitchen truly loved up to the fine dining in their title.

From this trip forward we will always go to Jake’s at least once when in town.

Yeah, it was really good. The tenderloin trio was excellent, although the texture of the elk reminded me of tenderized beef that had been beaten a bit too much. Cool, calm atmosphere, good drink choices. I wasn’t happy about them nickel and diming me for a split plate fee on a $55 entry.

Took my wife here on June 23rd, 2024. The service was exemplary. From the hostess to the server and the bus staff.
We started with two cocktails. The house bread is awesome.
We then ordered escargot and lobster with crab wontons. The escargot was delightful. While the lobster crab wontons did leave me slightly disappointed. They were not what I expected. It seemed to be a puree of crab and lobster rather than other wontons that I have had that have obvious prices of crab and lobster.
We were then served a caprese salad and a house salad, which were great. No detail was left out, down to the spiral cut cucumbers.
We then received Sorbet to cleanse the palette.
My wife got the sea bass while I got the tenderloin trio. The sea bass was marvelous, and the elk, bison, and venison were tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
We finished off our night with a slice of cheesecake that we shared.
Our server Michelle paid attention to ever detail. I look forward to going back to try more.
