I have spoken with the owner.
She assured me the restaurant would be the same but better.
Well, she is rarely open.
Service? What service.
The menu, as I was told, will change with her mood, so I don’t even know what they offer.

I, along with almost all of the locals who once enjoyed Way North, are more than disappointed with the changes.
She took a popular business that locals frequented 7 days a week and shuttered it, catering to her friends from the city.

Don’t waste your time driving out to the once welcoming and friendly restaurant.
She’s probably not open anyway.

Edit:
More nastiness in my email from Cynthia.
Way North was a thriving business that you ruined.
And yes, I have talked to you over the phone twice.
I can post your full name
Business/ work history
and
Personal phone number if you need more proof.
I also have screenshot of your nasty Facebook responses to me if you would like me to post them as well.

Rumor has it you are refusing to make payments to the previous owner and are suing your neighbor also.
Care to go into all that on Google reveiws?

Maybe you should have treated your loyal client base with more respect.
You and your “gold nugget that will be here a long time” are a failure and laughing stock.

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch on a day trip to Tekamah. The service was wonderful, food was delicious and the view was serene. I ordered the pastrami, it was tender and flavorful. My daughter got the hamburger and she enjoyed it.

Open 1 day a week ? That’s a hard pass.
Used to be a great place to go, The Way North was always open and had excellent food and service. I have odd days off and would go fishing on summit lake quite a bit, back then I could swing in and grab dinner, so sad to see them gone and this place shut down except for 1 day a week. How does a business even continue to stay viable ?

When starting to plan our wedding, we went to Cynthia at the Summit Mining Company. Cynthia was fabulous to work with. She was very accommodating and had some great ideas.

Cynthia, her daughter Adrienne and son in law gave us a taste testing for the foods for our wedding. They provided samples of cakes and everything was delicious.

When it came to the wedding day, they were fabulous!!! They helped with the music, the appetizers were excellent with a wide variety and the main meal was wonderful. The entire crew and the service was more than I could have asked for!!!!

If you want someone to treat you like family, handle all the food, venue, cakes and the event details, then Summit Mining Company is where you want to go!!!

We had the New York strip w/butterfly shrimp and bloody Mary’s. The steak was tough and chewy. I’m not sure what was up with the shrimp. The way it was cooked we both had a hard time pulling the meat away from the shell. The drinks were pretty good, and the service was good as well. It definitely was not worth the price we paid.

We really wanted to like this place to make it our cute date night spot but first and foremost, they had us wait for a table but they had plenty of tables open and tried sitting us inside next to a table of mean old grouchy people who muttered and stared when they saw my son in his stroller minding his business, so I suggested very nicely “do you think it would be a possibility of sitting outside?” The host who hadn’t even offered an option then said “oh my, I didn’t even think of that”, 1st flag. We get seated outside and we’re looking at the menu and everything looks appetizing so we ordered a burger and a salad (cause we were skeptical) how can you mess up a burger and salad??? I asked the server if they had a grilled chicken option, no grilled chicken only breaded, which 9/10 times that means it’s frozen microwaveable chicken, 2nd flag. My husband’s burger looked like a hockey puck, absolutely no flavor, 3rd flag. Not to mention my salad was $18 for some Walmart bagged shredded lettuce and 4 pieces of tomato on top w giant chunks of croutons. Honestly, the worst salad I’ve ever had in my life. Not to mention the prices didn’t match what was served at all… don’t let the reviews fool you, the food was horrible. Service was so/so.

Edit: I’m 100% a real customer! We came in w a party of 4 adults and 1 child in a stroller, we drove a Toyota and a Ford on June 22, 2024 at around 5:30-6 we left at 7pm! I have pictures of the cows off to the left side also which would be kind of hard to get on Google don’t ya think?
