I was extremely impressed by this rather marvelous dining experience that I partook in yesterday. I began my meal with a rather delectable rhubarb and apple beverage, which very much tickled my fancy. The waiters satisfied my stomach by providing plenty of their authentic, delicious popcorn, but before long my steak was on its way. It was as tender and juicy as one would have hoped, and the fries were to die for. There were a great selection of sides to choose from, and afterwards me and my peers were provided with a rather spiffing scoop of ice cream. I tell you what, it was jolly good, and I will for certain be returning and will reunite with this wonderful restaurant. There were no complaints from me or my stomach, and everything was as good as the seasoning on the steak, if you may!

Ella is beautiful inside and out and made our whole table feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Her knowledge of the menu was fantastic, she answered every question with confidence and guided us through the choices perfectly.
One of our guests has a severe nut allergy, and Ella handled this with incredible care and professionalism. She ensured everything was completely safe, which meant so much to us and allowed everyone to relax and fully enjoy the meal.
We were a table of six celebrating a birthday, and nothing phased her at all. She was calm, organised, and wonderfully charismatic throughout the evening. Service like this truly makes a difference to the dining experience.

My first time at Cambridge Flat Iron and was very excited to see it open up here as I’ve been to London ones and they were excellent. Cambridge was just as good. The staff are friendly, helpful and lovely. The food is simple, menopause small but perfect, always consistent and absolutely delicious, great quality, quick service. Zero complaints. I’ve paid twice as much for steak and been disappointed elsewhere but the attitude here blows me away; free popcorn to start and free ice cream for dessert. They don’t sell dessert or starters. Honestly I love that no commercial sell you or over inflated prices. It’s just so good and I was reflecting that to the server and how great it is and she said they really care for their staff too and most servers stay long term. I love that. So many reasons to love this place.

Arrived without a booking and was seated immediately on what looked to be a fairly busy Tuesday night. Server asked for our order quite fast however we had just sat down and still wanted a few minutes as we had not been before. When the server came back she discussed the difference between each cut of steak which was a nice touch. My partner and I ordered the wagyu sirloin medium rare which arrived cooked to perfection. Drinks arrived fast and were very nice too.
We were extremely happy with the food dispite receiving a single peppercorn sauce, not two as we asked for, though this was quickly resolved.
Ater that we felt ignored as dishes were taken back and we received no further service. Eventually we had to ask for the bill from a passing server. She did not explain the 12.5% service charge or the 10p donation to each steak. we felt rushed to pay having a card machine shoved towards us without giving a moment to even look at the bill.
Upon realising the bill had a tip applied and we were wrongly charged for 3 sauces not 2, we spoke to the manager working at the time about this issue.
The service charge and peppercorn sauce were refunded and we got our complementary ice-cream and left. Overall a neutral experience with mediocre service but good food. Will try again at a different location.

I visited Flat Iron Cambridge recently and was genuinely impressed! The restaurant sits in a lovely location just off Market Square, in a restored Victorian building with a relaxed stylish atmosphere. Perfect for both team dinners and solo visits.
The steak was superb and cooked exactly to order. The menu, while refreshingly simple, is executed with great care. The sides (like mac and cheese, bone marrow mash and creamed spinach) were perfect companions, and the attention to detail really elevated the meal.
What I also loved was the friendly service and those little touches from complimentary popcorn on arrival to a sweet ice cream treat at the end of the meal. It all made the evening feel warm and welcoming.
The vibe strikes a brilliant balance: lively but cosy, with great staff and delicious food throughout. Highly recommended if you’re in Cambridge and craving excellent steak and a truly enjoyable meal!

Flat Iron in Cambridge serves a great steak. Mine was cooked slightly less than I asked for, but it was still very good. The mash and the house wine were excellent. The free popcorn and soft-serve ice cream are great touches. It was busy, but the service remained friendly and efficient.

Flat Iron in Cambridge offers probably the steakhouse experience! It is conveniently located on the main road. The restaurant is housed in a beautiful aesthetic building and they have managed to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The menu highlights their signature flat iron steak. The burger was too good to be true, I’d have had another one only if my appetite had allowed. The food is complemented by popcorn and my favourite part of the whole experience is the cleaver that they give you when you pay the bill and it can be exchanged for soft ice cream on departure. Crazy good customer exp! Also, their staff is very friendly and attentive.

Busy place but very well staffed to handle it. Gluten-free options which makes it easy for me to eat. Recommend getting a reservation. Ordered the Wagyu steak and the chef even brought it directly to my table to limit any cross contamination because of my celiacs. Food was absolutely perfect! Loved the old fashioned in the small flask. They also have soft serve ice cream while you are leaving. Delicious!

We had an absolutely outstanding experience here in Cambridge. The steak was honestly exceptional, cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
What made it even more memorable were the little touches: free popcorn at the start and free ice cream at the end, both completely unexpected and such a lovely gesture. For the quality of the food and service, the price was unbelievably good.
The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was relaxed, and even the toilets were spotless, everything was taken care of.
I’d definitely go back again without hesitation. Highly recommended.

Lovely birthday lunch at Flat Iron Cambridge! The steak was gorgeous; the chips and roast aubergine and mozzarella were delicious! I had a virgin Tom Collins and it was fresh and nice. The team brought me a cute ice cream dessert too. Overall, it was such a nice atmosphere, great attentive service, and tasty food!
