This restaurant was recommended to us and what a great recommendation it was!
The situation is in what appears to be in a small Chateau which has been tastefully refurbished, there are no garish ornaments to make up for any short-comings in the food that one sees in so many establishments these days.
The welcome was warm and friendly even for two rosbifs who mangled their language.
The menu was not over complicated and the wine list very comprehensive, with great options for any taste or wallet.
The food arrived promptly and what a delight it was; the chef has a touch of genius in being able to create dishes that were both subtle and surprising at the same time to the extent that one had to savour every mouthful to marvel on the flavours and the inspired combinations. Do not misunderstand me, this is not a shocking Heston Blumenthal experience, the combination of flavours was enchanting but never challenging.
We will remember our visit to La Roche Le Roy as one of our best dining experiences ever and that is no mean feat.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Most dishes were great but none of them were truly unique and remarkable. I have no doubt about the quality of each ingredient and the chef’s talent but I must stay 85€ per person feels a bit too much when we leave the place without the very feeling of “this or that dish was incredible”. We still had a good time though, service was both very welcoming and professional. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very nice.

Our group booked this wonderful jewel in Tours thanks to our amazing tour director. The menu was sublime in every aspect and the service was impeccable, attentive, timely, and truly enhanced the experience to another level. The chef’s execution of everything from the welcome morsel, to the amuse bouche, to the lobster entreé, and the fish and soufflé was flawless. Flavors were truly complimentary and the wine pairings elevated each course as well. I wish I could return more often, but I will always have the unforgettable memories.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of La Roche Le Roy in Tours. Located south of tour in a mini-castle/mansion, you will be welcomed with very good food and very generous amuse-bouches and pre-desert. Thanks to menu offering, the price is not steep in regard of the quality. A very good option if your are residing in Tours Sud/South.

What a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly informative and slightly more relaxed than your usually haute cuisine. The food was excellent for a smaller city and beautiful beautifully presented. One of the best restaurants in Tours!

The best meal of our stay in France and one of the best meals I have ever eaten. We had the tasting menu which was primarily a selection of exquisitely prepared raw and cold seafood and fish. This was perfect because it was scorchingly hot in the Loire. The crudo was, by far, the most delicious I have ever eaten. Many courses were finished with exquisite flowers, all edible. My husband who does not give compliments lightly said the meal was spectacular and I agree. Do not let the rather unappealing location off a main road deter you. Once there, the magic begins.
