We had a wonderful experience at Hao by Haoru. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well put together. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and comfortable — great for both casual meals and special occasions. No loud music!

The food was excellent. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell there’s real care put into the preparation and quality of the dishes.

The service was just as impressive — attentive, friendly, and professional without being overbearing. The staff made sure we were taken care of throughout the entire visit.

Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back again!
Must order: Sweet & spicy chicken! Beef and chicken are halal!

You can tell real care goes into both the food and the guest experience at Hao by Haoru. If you’re a fan of Korean–Chinese cuisine or trying it for the first time, Hao is a must-visit!

The overall restaurant is modern, clean, and welcoming. I think it would truly make for a great spot for both casual dinners and group outings. Staff were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to explain dishes, which really elevated my overall experience!

As for my meal, it was my first time trying yoo rin gi and it completely won me over! The fried chicken was perfectly crispy with a savory sauce. Another very crispy and light item were the veggie spring rolls, which tasted great with the dipping sauce. The oyster jjamppong was rich and flavorful, while the seafood jajangmyeon was hearty and full of toppings. The cream lemon shrimp was comforting and the crab egg drop soup was silky and warming.

Lastly, my favorite were the fried dumplings, which I was told are made with house-made wrappers and filling! They were THE BEST fried dumplings I’ve had! Every bite of my meal was delicious, especially paired with ice-cold Terra which tied everything together perfectly! I would highly recommend checking out Hao by Haoru!

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant! Great service accompanied by even better service and the restaurant itself is kept very clean! Dennis was kind attentive and quick to making our dining experience amazing. I usually get the beef brisket jjam pong, but today we opted into the all you can eat special and what a steal it is! A wide variety of the most popular dishes with solid portions and a fairly quick pace! If you ever wanted to try everything at a korean/chinese restaurant but never had a group large enough or the opportunity, this is the perfect way to try everything!

Specific food items that I that I enjoyed include the khan poong sal, brisket jjam pong, spicy gang jja jang, and tang su yuk. Something that might be new to some is the creamy lemon shrimp which really combines sweet and savory very well.

All in all I totally reccomend coming here with family and friends alike for a great dining experience!

I went during the afternoon at like 4pm, i avoided the crowd. The food came very quickly and everything tasted great! My favorite was their jjamppong!! It definitely was filling but after a while I got tired of the fried chicken haha noodles were good. I wish instead of so much fried food there would be more of a variety

My homeland dreams came true in Fairfax!

As a child in Seoul, I used to see the Korean-Chinese delivery guys on their scooters rushing these food orders with their metal containers filled with JjaJangMyun (black bean noodles), JjamPong (seafood spicy noodle soup) and TangSooYuk (sweet and sour fried pork).

Now we have an AYCE option in Fairfax at a very reasonable price!

Thumbs up on the JjamPong, TangSooYuk, and JjaJangMyun which are the Korean-Chinese staple dishes!

The JjamPong had a clean yet spicy enough broth with mussels and squid.

The TangSooYuk was fried perfectly (and not greasy) and the sweet and sour sauce was decently prepared and tasty without being overbearing.

If you recall the movie “Parasite” the actors ate “JjaPaGuri” which was a combination of instant JjaPaghetti (ramen black bean sauce) and NuhGuri (seafood ramen soup). Essentially you can get both here but not in instant ramen form but real noodles, fixings and broth.

For those less adventurous, think of this place as a Chinese restaurant in the sense that the AYCE has chicken and pork sweet and sour options along with fried rice and lo mein options.

They also have an a la carte menu for those wanting to just order the staples ex, combo JjamPong noodles and TangSooYuk or for those more adventurous you can try their Pepper Pork which is fragrant peppers with shredded pork or their seafood dishes that include sea cucumber.

As for the free condiments what you do is eat the yellow pickled radish or daikon with the noodles. That’s a pretty standard condiment.

And the slices of Raw onion you dip into the black bean sauce as tradition in any Korean Chinese restaurant. They also provide shredded pickled cabbage which was my favorite condiment from this place.

The decor is modern open air style and friendly waitstaff.

Did the all you can eat! AMAZING value and the service was really nice. We got recommendations, nicely timed check-ins, and our table was cleared of empty plates quietly and quickly.

The atmosphere was my favorite, playing cozy jazz, hearing the kitchen do their thing (not too loud and I sat in front of the kitchen). It’s nice to have nostalgic Korean-Chinese cuisine without the nostalgic loud music , but that’s definitely a personal preference outside the food.

Food was great! I recommend the ja jang myun. It has a differently spiced, cleaner flavor than I’m used to. Not as fatty and thick. The yoo rin gi was my favorite ad well! The breading on the fried foods can be a mix between crispy and chewy, but I think that’s fun and you can also ask for sauce on the side if you want to keep the crisp longer. Looking forward to coming again!

Hao by Haoru is a newly opened restaurant in Fairfax, Virginia, specializing in authentic Korean-Chinese cuisine with a contemporary twist. Located in Greenbriar Town Center, this culinary gem offers a variety of wok-fired dishes, including classic favorites like black bean noodles (Jjajangmyeon) and sweet and sour pork (Tangsuyuk). The restaurant features a weekday lunch buffet with comforting dishes crafted with bold flavors and high-quality ingredients. Its modern ambiance is complemented by friendly and attentive service.

The Crab Meat Egg Drop Soup combines shredded imitation crab meat with a thick, well-balanced broth, enriched with peas, carrots, and green onions. The Tangsuyuk & Jajangmyeon Combo features generous pieces of meat with irresistibly crispy skin, perfectly complemented by a separate sauce bowl. The black bean noodles (Jajangmyeon) are a treat, offering a chewy texture and a sauce that strikes the perfect balance between salty and sweet. Don Katsu is nothing short of perfection; it is moist and crispy on the outside. It is served alongside a fresh cabbage salad and makes for a filling and satisfying meal. Lastly, the Cream Lemon Shrimp showcases jumbo shrimp topped with a delightful lemon cream sauce, delivering a sweet and tangy flavor that is truly delicious.

Place is cute and has nice vibes. But, their jajangmyeon lacked flavor and was a little too soupy. I’m used to the black bean sauce being thicker. The tangsuyuk (fried pork) was crispy, but some of the pork pieces were chewy. Overall, a good place, but I’ve had better Service was great though and the food came out quick!
