Amherst Burger Co. founder Barry Roberts recalled a time when one could come to downtown Amherst and grab a well-made local beef burger and an ice cream cone. He saw a need in the community and decided to fill it! In the spring of 2023 Mr. Roberts opened ABC with a great team to create a fast-casual burger joint in the heart of downtown Amherst. Sourcing his beef locally from Echodale Farms’ grass-fed cattle, and serving Hadley’s Cook’s Farm Flayvors Ice Cream, a downtown anchor was born. A fresh setting, with beer and wine for the grown-ups, ABC is a one-of-a-kind happy local place for all to gather and enjoy the simple things in life! Indoor and outdoor seating in season and take out year-round.

We were so excited to try this new spot. Especially since they serve grass fed beef. But the price is not worth what you get.
I know you pay more for grass fed, the smash burger was so over cooked, under seasoned, and not even smashed properly that there was no point to use a more expensive meat.
The sides are also so over priced. I can’t believe I paid over $1 per oinion ring. One side order cost $5.50 and I only got five small onion rings. The other side order only had six. The side of fries was tiny, yet cost $5.00.
These prices cannot be justified. So disappointed. They weren’t even busy when we put our order in and the kitchen seemed to be fully staffed with about 5 or 6 guys back there. So being slammed can’t even be an excuse.

My friend and I have been looking forward for the grand opening of Amherst Burger for a while now. After a long night out, we were finally able to give it a shot on the way home. We went in with high expectations, and not only were they met, they were exceeded. We went to order and was immediately greeted by kind staff. We then seated ourselves and the food was delivered to us shorty after. They proceeded to give us the best burgers we’ve ever had. Everything is phenomenal, the fries, the burgers, the sourdough… I could honestly eat here for every meal of the day. Additionally, they serve ice cream from Flayvors, an ice cream staple of the pioneer valley. You really can’t ask for anything more when it comes to a quality, family friendly restaurant. Recommendations: The U-Smash, Fluffy Sourdough.

Yes, it’s busy, yes, the lines can be long, yes, they have had some staffing issues, but the food is excellent and so worth the wait! I’ve had the U smash burger on multiple occasions and really enjoyed it. Got the hot dog loaded with toppings and was very happy with my decision. The fries have always been crispy and seasoned well. Love the ABC sauce and the root beer floats don’t disappoint. Highly recommend giving them a shot and having grace for them as they’re a new business getting the hang of things!

Every town deserves a good burger joint with ice cream and a fun atmosphere like this one has. For a fair price you can get a quality burger and tasty ice cream, but if you want your fries hot not lukewarm I recommend going during slow hours.

My buddies and I went here today and we all loved our sides, burgers and sandwiches! I liked the portion sizes- we were able to clean our plates but also were very full. Clean atmosphere, and cool color scheme. The people taking our order were so helpful with me (a stroke survivor who couldn’t read the menu). Considerate servers and quick cleaning of spills. They did a lot of wonderful updates to the old building. We will be back! 10/10

We had burgers here at an off peak time. No excuse for the loong wait…This place smells like lestoil/pinesol cleaner inside. If you can get past that go on in.. I had the u smash, companions had mean bean and traditional burger. We shared a sweet potato fries. We waited a looong time for our food… while the folks behind us got their food, ate, and were leaving as we were served. The fries were the best part of the meal despite being somewhat cold. They were still crispy. Burgers are on the small side and totally unimpressive. Compared to a say 5 guys they didn’t even measure up to that. This was totally disappointing. We won’t be back. Go to The Works next door… its muuuuuch better!

Worst burger I have ever been served or tasted. Bun was harder than a rock and burger was just straight up burnt char. No meat even left to eat. It was over half an hour of standing in line and another half of waiting before food even arrived. Disrespectfully unedible burger. Would not wish that taste of food for my worst enemy. Wish I could give a negative star review.

Burger was tasty, decent size sweet potato fries are delicious, for the price they are charging at least fountain drinks should be free refills. Otherwise the place is nice, and good atmosphere.
