We tried a lot of the items on the menu and there were no misses, everything was good or great. We loved the al pastor tacos the best, but the chicken tinga and carne asada were solid as well. Loved their chilango burger with grilled pineapple and caramelized onion, just incredible flavor. Also their chili nachos were epic, and the mole and verde tamales were both excellent. Also enjoyed the crab gorditas.
Cocktails were way too sweet, but they had the right idea in terms of recipes. They also have a modest but good tequila selection.
Place is very spacious with a big restaurant side with booths and tables, and a bar side with some high top tables and bar counter seating. A few friends and I went where on a Thursday night and it was fairly empty but we had a great time.
Loved their beers. They had some adventurous off-the-beaten path brews like Freshly Foraged lager made with Spicebush (yum). Skip the mixed drinks. They were tasting watered down.
The food is mostly very yummy. Tamale Verde is fire. Enjoyed everything about it.
Carne asada taco came with ample helping of steak but I could do with either more seasoning in the meat or some kind of marinade.
Chicken Mole has a very rich flavor, very winter spice forward. The chicken was a bit dry though and proportion of masa to filling was not as good as verde. Glad to try the bold flavor but probably won’t be a repeat.
Service is stellar. Wonderful people. With this said, to one lovely lady behind the bar – please time your recreational activities better. Reeking of pot is a bad form.
Friendly suggestion – make the happy hour options/prices visible please ! We were charged one price for pork tamale and another for chicken. No idea why.
All and all, very much recommend. I’ll be back to try more yummy food and update !
The service was fast and the staff was very nice and attentive, i have no idea why this place is not packed because its a hidden gem!!!
Everyone was really happy with the meal and we can’t wait to come back!
Haven’t visited since the Days of Old Towne Tavern. Place looks pretty similar to the last time I was there.
Please is clean and well lit. Stopped in on Sunday to check it out. Quickly sat and greeted. Tried the house beers (I never drank a single beer from the Tavern when I worked there.) and while I am not a big fan of beer. The ones I had were pretty good. I prefered the margarita.
Nachos were a hit and the desert was enjoyed.
Would definitely come back and will make that happen soon.
(Had to run up to the 3rd floor. I was always assigned to work on the third floor all weekend. Should probably check this place out when they have music.)
Had about 4 different items of their menu and tried 2 different beers. Everything was immaculate, will definitely be back.
