Boise City, Kansas. Quaint, generous and and tasty! We were told to sit where we wanted and I headed one way and my husband the other. I joined him when I noticed but the local farmers here pointed out with a big grin that “She said we could sit where we wanted” (even if it were two separate booths.) The high school across the street has 80 kids… 1500 people in the whole county. The waitress says the same farmers come in for breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. She knows what they order every day so puts in the order as they drive up.

This is a great small town Cafe. The service was great, the food was excellent, and the people are really special. Not like the big city, these people actually talk to you not at you. They have a Green Chili Chicken Fry, it is awesome if you like Green Chili’s and Cheese. The Fried Okra wa great also. Thank y’all for a good meal and peaceful conversation.

Great little place in Boise City. Doesn’t look like much on the outside but great food awaits you inside. The service was great as our waitress was very nice and helpful. My grandson had the cheeseburger and chips with the fixings on the side which he appreciated. I had the steak sandwich and fries. Everything served hot to the table. Just a nice mom and pop place.

My husband and I stopped in here almost 2 years ago. It was totally awesome. I had the chicken fry, he had the chicken strips (when the food is that good, you remember)! Real pan gravy, real potatoes, tender steak and the chicken wasn’t dry.
The waitress was awesome.
We were going to go back, but I lost my husband in September. Now I just can’t bring myself to do it. I’m sorry.

Do not eat here if you’re not a local.The second we walked in we were met with glares from every person that was sitting down and already eating. Our waitress was very short with us and not very friendly. Some locals came in about 10 minutes after us and received their food at least 20 minutes before we received ours. It took 45 minutes to get a chef salad and a hamburger steak. I will say that the food was good. Not the best experience for us as we were traveling hoping to have a nice bite to eat without being stared at most of the time by the locals. I will also say that the lady we paid at the counter was friendly, but our waitress was far from friendly. I know the restaurant can’t control the attitudes of the local community but the waitress could have been better at making us feel a little more at ease by being friendly.

This is a great local place to go for breakfast. Very friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, and great food for an incredibly reasonable price (less than $15 for two of us). It was a little slow, but we weren’t in a rush so that wasn’t a problem.
