I’ve been going to Grande Saloon for years, and have hung in there through all the ups and downs (Covid, renovations etc) . So glad because this little spot deserves to continue on! It has a nice, neighborhood feel, and great food and drinks. Their specials are always yummy, and the bartenders are awesome. Special shout out to Dave who makes one of the best Old fashioneds, as well as whipping up original specialty cocktails, based on what You like. I highly recommend Grande Saloon, just save me a seat at the bar!

Came for dinner recently and have mostly great things to say! Atmosphere and vibe are really impressive. Their renovation is SO nice. Decor is really cute and cozy with really nice touches everywhere (even candles on the table). The bar was well attended and everything that I could see the bartender mixing up looked really good. We got a comfortable booth and had excellent service by a very friendly and attentive server. The food, unfortunately wasn’t very good. It wasn’t that anything was *bad*, it just wasn’t good. The fried chicken sandwich definitely didn’t seem to be made from scratch (it was like something from the freezer section), the veggie burger was fine but super bland and the bar pie (as others have mentioned and so did the server!) is on a tortilla. If we came back we’d likely try brunch or just drinks and apps? The vibe is too cute to give up on! Hope they can get the food on track because places like this are few and far between.

This past weekend, we celebrated my Mother’s 80th Birthday at The Grand Saloon. Living in Florida, I had to plan remotely which I thought would be difficult, but thanks to Carlos, it was a breeze! Communication from the very beginning was stellar and he went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and put my mind at ease. On the day of the party, he allowed my family members to arrive early to set up the room and the wait staff jumped in to help. Everything from start to finish was flawless, the food was delicious, the drinks were flowing and the staff was INCREDIBLE!!! A giant THANK YOU to everyone at The Grand Saloon for making her Birthday extra special!!! You guys are THE BEST!!!

I hosted a small celebration for my son’s first communion, with a reservation for approximately 34 people. We had the option to choose between a catering menu and a prix fixe menu; I selected the catering menu, and the food was delicious. I would rate it 10 out of 10. The service and staff members were outstanding. Communication with the manager was easy, and they were very helpful and flexible in making things happen. The price was reasonable compared to other restaurants. I would recommend this place 100%. It was clean and had a friendly atmosphere. We had a great time!

Went after work today had the clam chowder and spinach dip it was really good, Amy was our waitress she was very nice and attentive she was right about the spinach dip appetizer it was delicious and great portion! My Boyfriends dinner chicken and mashed potatoes where also good comfort food. I also was there in Halloween the my birthday cool vibe and happy hour drinks. Definitely cool spot to go after work.

Wife and I went during happy hour yesterday. Had a margarita and a sangria along with the goat cheese fritters and cheesesteak eggrolls to start which both all excellent. Got a steak sandwhich and the pasta dish that was on the special menu for dinner. Again, both were excellent. The new menu has a lot of choices and our server Danielle was awesome. Great place.

The restaurant was redone in 2024, and has been amazing since the reopening! I have not been to the basement since that was redone, but looking forward to seeing it soon. Food is great, service is amazing, and the atmosphere is truly surprising compared to the previous setup.

We had some reservations about the place after the remodel and change in ownership, but it was time to see what they have wrought on Van Houten. Sadly this was not a fruitful endeavor.
To begin, the seating area aside from the bar was loud, to the point of distraction. The room seemed almost designed to amplify the half deaf customers twelve feet away. Fine, it happens.
We order drinks, and quickly ran out of water. It took three tries and thirty minutes to get a new carafe.
Fine, it happens.
The añejo sour was too sour by half. It happens.
The goat cheese fritters were very good, and it seemed things would improve.
They did not. Two very overpriced and dry steak sandwiches, and the paucity of meat and cheese was embarrassing. One dry ribeye grilled cheese, and small. Onion rings were good. Service was okay but not superlative. Bill was high for the experience.
Overall, not worth the prices being charged and not the best atmosphere either. It may be some time before we return.

The minute people start finding out about this place, it’ll start getting packed. The menu is SO good — the name of the place sounds like a pub because they bought out the bar and kept the name. The modern renovations look great while still keeping some of the character of the old place. Their menu has everything from great pastas to steak, fish, etc. Even their salads were super good (we had the wedge with avocado). Definitely get the whipped ricotta app!
Jakub our server had a great vibe and helped with recommendations. We didn’t get to try the seasonal cocktails but definitely will next time. Good portions and little details in all the dishes made things extra tasty (fries were my favorite kind, bread in everything was fresh, burger was extra juicy, the honey in the whipped ricotta was perfect, etc).
Looking forward to coming back soon!
