The lamb curry was delicious! The lamb was so tender, and the mild spice level makes it perfect for people who don’t eat spicy food. The sauce is rich and flavorful, perfect to enjoy with lots of rice. The garlic naan is chewy and tasty, great on its own or paired with the curry. It’s just as delicious for takeout too. Highly recommend this place!

Amazing food! Only reason I gave the service a 4 star rating was because I got my food to go. But the interaction over the phone and when I picked up my food was excellent. Also the seating they have inside is nice, with nice cloth napkins and nice cutlery/plates. I love spicy food, but my spice tolerance definitely isn’t high. The spicy chicken curry tastes amazing and tested my spice tolerance, which was exactly what I was looking for! The veg samosa was also to die for. The chicken curry comes with a lot of tasty rice which I wasn’t aware of, so an added bonus. BUT THE GARLIC NAAN! OOF! If you’re not sure about this place or Indian food in general, it is a MUST try!

Went here a few times. They have really good flavorful food and have pretty good service. However, be careful because if you have a weak stomach, you will be on the toilet for hours after.

Delicious food! We had the chicken tiki masala and the kofta curry. The kofta was so nice and had such a great texture, and the sauce was perfectly spiced even at mild. Not too spicy though! The tiki masala was lovely and filling. You can feed two people on one dish, or have leftovers for lunch tomorrow 😉 The service was very good too, only one person working front of house but she is attentive and friendly! Highly recommend.

Not sure why the low ratings. 5 stars IMO (from a Manhattan food snob). Probably the most flavorful Indian food I’ve had in a while. Chicken tikka masala medium spicy was great, saag paneer was solid, shrimp soup amazing. It’ll be our go-to in the winter months for sure. I’m not big on spice (I’m a basic white boy from the Midwest) but in no way was “medium” too spicy for me. But everyone has their own levels of tolerance, so if you’re spice intolerance, maybe opt out of delicious Indian food instead of leaving a local small business a bad review!

I came here with a baby, toddler, and my mother in law last spring. When I was turned around taking care of the baby, the server came over and grabbed my 3 yr olds arm and tried to bring her to him for a hug. My MIL was astounded and didn’t know how to react and told me what had happened when we sat down. He then continued coming over to our table asking for a smile or trying to touch her. He also brought candies over after I said no thank you. It was such an uncomfortable experience and I will not be back.

Late lunch on a Tuesday. Awesome. Have had Indian in New York, in Connecticut…this was very good, and very good value. Son had the lamb sheek kabab – the tomato-based dipping sauce that came with it crowned it. I had the aloo gobi – exquisitely cooked cauliflower and potato, with just the right amount of heat. If you are in the area, arguably the best food around.

Royal Indian Grill has been a lifesaver over my time at Colgate, the food has been the closest resemblance to home, and the new lady who takes orders is very personable!
