This stylish new restaurant has a handful of classic dishes and new recipes. The portabella and polenta mushroom dish is a great option for vegetarians – filling and flavorful. Portion sizes are moderate. Be aware that when we visited in April 2023 they charged a credit card fee.

Their sausages were un edible. Went there Sunday night all excited to order their Fitchburg famous classic. I don’t know what happened but I literally ended up throwing the meal out it was terrible.
The bartendress was so nice and their house Chardonnay was really good (William Hill) but unfortunately I won’t ever be going back 🙁

Stopped in on a rainy day for lunch. Lobster ravioli were delicious and stuffed so full.
The bread and oil were great and the service excellent.
Will be back.

I have been here 3 times and it was always a pleasant atmosphere and the food was delicious. I have had the stuffed chicken with pesto sauce twice because it was so good. Chicken was moist and the sauce yummy. I always have enough to bring home for another meal. Their bread is warm from the oven and always a nice salad on the side. My husband loves the mild sausage and tried the veal parm tonight that was a good portion and delicious. The waitstaff all work together which is nice so you are not waiting for your server to come clear the table if they are busy. We found La Balena a great place for lunch or dinner. Compliments to the Chef and staff!

My good friend lives this place and my first visit was for her sons graduation celebration! The service was absolutely fabulous! We had an assortment of appetizers all of much were presented beautiful and tasted delicious! My daughter went rogue and ordered the kids chicken fingers and fries which – looked handmade and tasted amazing!
All the classics were to die for – gnocchi was very fresh tasting and perfectly cooked!
Topped it off with key lime pie – which is my favorite and I’m therefore picky about and it was very good!

We went there with anticipation that it was going to great to have a fresh cook Italian restaurant near by. That went south quickly. First after drinks were brought out (no alcohol just fountain) we asked the waitress for straws. She said that they were all out of straws. She took our order and as I looked to the bar area saw cups of straws. (Which one of us at the table went over and got ourselves) Then after waiting about an hour for dinner to arrive we mentioned something to the waitress about how we have seen people come in after us, get served and leave in the time we have been waiting. She informed us that the food is made fresh and their atmosphere is all about the dining experience (which we weren’t doing much dining and as of that night there is no alcohol due to no liquor license yet) and our food would be about another 15 min. Finally when the food came out some was luke warm (spaghetti and lasagna) while others were not fully cooked (the broccoli and ravioli) and at this time we were hungry and just didn’t care to stay. We spoke with the manager about our concerns stating that we realize that the restaurant is just starting out and we would like to let you know that not everything is 100% perfect. He apologized and gave us 20% off our meal (which nobody ended up eating or taking home) and a gift card to come back and try again. We thanked him for listening and hope that our next experience will be better. The next day we were wondering how much the gift card was for and after looking up that balance it said that the card could not be found. So I don’t recommend and I won’t be back due to the bad service. Don’t lie to customers and if you try and make things right make sure that it’s actually made right.

I wanted to like this place as there are not a ton of options in the area. We went out with friends, The drinks were good the first round and then my husband said his drink was terrible the second same drink just not made the same. We just got appetizers and I could tell the waitress seemed like she didn’t want to be there or was having a bad night. But the whole exchange was rather unfriendly and awkward. My Flatbread was terrible! I’m not sure if they are just using premade crust but for $14 it was just not good. Soft and chewy crust the whole thing tasted like cafeteria food.
I wanted to email the restaurant after to let them know to give them a chance to address various issues. I don’t see a website or a contact other than a phone number. It’s unfortunate because we have tried this restaurant as it’s changed hands over the years. Not impressed at all.

Went to La Belena for my birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had soup, salad, warm bread, entrees and dessert it was all homemade and fantastic. The waitress was very accommodating and nice. We were told when we got there that the restaurant didn’t have a liquor license yet but that didn’t matter to us. Also we were seated downstairs and it was very quiet but the server asked if we would like some background music and we said yes so she turned on the speaker system. Great experience!

Had a FABULOUS experience! Right from walking in everyone was super personable and you felt like you were wanted there. Our waiter Andrew was attentive, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations. We had the Aracini appetizer with a raspberry sauce- definitely different but a good different. The sauce you would never think to pair with rice but it strangely and deliciously worked! Homemade pasta is always a plus and you could tell this was high quality homemade pasta cooked perfectly. My husband had the chicken piccata which was scrumptious…just enough lemon and chicken was cooked perfectly. I had the lobster ravioli that was just absolutely dreamy; both were absolutely filling! Key lime pie was totally homemade and just the right amount of tart. My ONLY critique (and this is totally personal preference) was that they had a homemade salad dressing at the table, but served fresh bread (which was DELICIOUS) without a seasoned dipping oil. I would say swap out the dressing and use out back for a seasoned oil on the table. Whoever did the hiring there really hit the nail on the head and whoever is their head chief clearly has a passion for their craft. 10/10 recommend! Can’t wait to come back and try their butter board!!

There were only 10 people dining. We had waited for our food an extra long time. It was however very worth it. Food was great but not hot. There’s a few things they need to work on as the length of the wait time. Atmosphere not Italian . All in all appetizers were great. Good not hot but taste great! Will try again in a couple months! Pasta should be Al Dente and was overcooked. Waitress was good . Definitely give them time to work out the kinks!!
