We stumbled upon this gem while hunting for the perfect cup in LA, after spotting it as one of the city’s top coffees in an online award roundup.
Needless to say, we were blown away—expectations met in the best way. The flavors are unique yet balanced, with a silky smoothness that lingers on the palate. I didn’t catch the roast level (medium, I’d wager, based on that velvety profile), but it was spot-on.
The folks up front—pretty sure they’re the owners—have an uncanny knack for reading your vibe and steering you toward the ideal drink.
On a whim, they poured us their personal favorite, as they thought it synced perfectly with my craving for something bright and eye-opening. First-timer here, and already hooked.
We started with two pours, but my husband couldn’t resist grabbing four more “to-go cups” (essentially concentrated iced coffee, sans ice, so he could savor them over the next few days without dilution).
Their rotating specialty lineup ties into holidays and seasons—dropped on Instagram—but the real magic is swinging by unannounced as a new wave drops.

Arrived on a Wednesday around 11 an ordered the Mazapán Latte. It was our first time coming here and we were NOT disappointed! Service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant but the drink was even better!

Today a coworker and myself went to grab some coffee, and decided to try this shop. Can’t rate food because I know they don’t serve dishes, I asked few days ago, however we had a blueberry-cinnamon bagel w/ cream cheese and it was delicious and we decided to try the acurrucame coffee. They have a good variety of flavors, but also some of them are seasonal that are not in the menu, Ask Reyes who’s the guy that was preparing our coffee, he is a nice guy , I asked him few questions and he was very kind and answered all of them. I will definitely have to go again and try a different flavor. The only issue is the parking, I didn’t ask and I’m not sure if they have a parking lot. However if anyone decides to give it a shot to this place be careful.

New coffee shop in town and I’m living for it!
The coffee is so tasty and they have some very creative beverages including a Mazapán Latte and a Agua Fresca with coffee (I know, it sounds odd, but it gives it a really nice smoky taste).
The staff is very friendly and the location is kept very clean, A+!!! The shop is owned by a Latino couple and their logo is inspired by a Mayan deity, it is super cute!
The restrooms are gender neutral as well and are wheelchair accessible as well as the entrance to the shop.
Their menu (see photo) offers a range of products and milk alternatives! Not sure which brand they used for their oatmilk but it was very tasty. I ordered their Mazapán Latte with oatmilk and it was very tasty, not super sweet (I don’t like very sweet coffee beverages, this coffee shop is definitely intentional with their sugar levels).
There is no outdoor seating and seating inside is very limited, this is more of a get it and go type of shop. I don’t believe they had Wi-Fi available, but as I mentioned, seating is very limited anyhow.
All forms of payment are accepted.
I would recommend either catching an Uber/Lyft, public transit or walking to the location as parking on Cesar Chavez is a hassle. Metered parking is available, but you can also try the residential parking.
They do not sell food as of now, but they do have some baked goods such as muffins and bagels. I don’t believe they prepare the baked goods there. I can’t rate their baked goods as I did not try any of them (maybe next time).

Little gem in the heart of Boyle Heights! So lucky to have stumbled upon this coffee shop while walking my dogs. The coffee was great. The hibiscus cold brew was amazingggg. The person manning the coffee bar was caring and warm. Fully recommend stopping by.

Been wanting to go to Acurrúcame Café for a few weeks before actually trying it out last month in the middle of July. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall that is easy to miss because it’s tucked away on a little busy street with many businesses surrounding it.
As soon as we entered, there was a gentleman at the register that was possibly the owner. We were greeted with a large smile and immediately started listing out his favorite drinks including the flavor profiles. Any questions we had, he answered thoroughly.
We ended up getting the Acurrúcame Latte, Mazapan Latte, and their Hibiscus (Jamaica) Cold Brew. The lattes were very delicious and not too sweet. The Hibiscus Cold Brew was amazing and the flavors were very well balanced together.
We had initially ordered the two lattes and when we went to sit down, we noticed the sign outside advertising their hibiscus cold brew so I had to make another separate order to try that out and I’m glad I did!
The interior has a few seating areas and a very cute mural as well. The man working the front obviously loves his job and it looks like they have a lot of regulars.
If you’re looking for a small coffee business, I recommend this spot! Ask about their special menu offering a few off menu latte items. I love Latino owned coffee shops because they add their twist to interesting and flavorful lattes that you cannot find anywhere else!
We will definitely be back in the near future to try more of their drinks including their matcha offerings!

To say I’m obsessed is an absolute understatement.
The quality of the coffee, the matcha, the service and overall ambiance of this this underrated gem is absolutely insane. I willingly drive 20 minutes from silverlake every other day just for them and they never disappoint! I hope this treasure starts getting the customer base they deserve & stay successful for years to come.
