I got the jerk chicken with rice/beans and cabbage lunch special . The Food is really good and nicely portioned. I also got the homemade mango juice which is amazing. The owner Mr time is very out going and polite. It was my first time trying this restaurant and he did not disappoint. I will be back.

Babbbbyyy I will be back!!! I was licking my fingers!! Food is bomb the lady there super pleasant!! They do lunch specials Monday to Saturday 11am to 4pm I got all this for a lunch special for 10 dollars or less! Brown stewed chicken, rice and peas, plantains and cabbage everything seasoned and amazing!

I’ve been here several times since they’ve opened. I was iffy at first because they were so new and I didn’t want to waste my time and money but I’m so glad I gave them a try. The service is good, the food is so good, the prices are very reasonable especially for the quantity— you get a good amount of food. The rice and beans *chefs kiss* love love love. I’ve tried the brown stew, jerk chicken, oxtails, beef patties and Mac & Cheese and all of them taste good! I’ve come so often he knows my face lol! Def recommend! One of the best Jamaican spots I’ve had since moving to GA 5 years ago (and I’m from Miami, a melting pot of flavors and good food — so trust, I know good food)! Beef Patties could have a bit more meat in them but everything else is great!

I recently discovered this Jamaican takeout spot, and it was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious—full of flavor and cooked to perfection. There was no wait at all, and the gentleman who helped me—I’m pretty sure he was the owner—was incredibly friendly. Truly the best service around! I was also pleasantly surprised by the amazing value. The $7.99 lunch special was an unbeatable deal, offering a generous portion of delicious food. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

I stopped by for the lunch special and tried both the curry chicken and jerk chicken—both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and authentic, and the portions were generous. On top of that, the service was excellent—friendly, fast, and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving real Jamaican food!

I stopped by here to get the 5.99 lunch special on 10/4/23 at 12:30 but I decided to get the Lg Oxtail plate with a beef patty ($28). I would recommend them over Jamrock here in Riverdale. The gentleman was very friendly.
Oxtails – they were okay. I would prefer a little more cook time to really help with the tenderness. Some were more tender than other pieces. I also prefer more of a thicker and flavorful gravy (I’m a gravy gworl).
Cabbage – cooked perfectly to my liking. There was still some crunch in the vegetables with a slight kick. I did a pinch of salt to mines when I arrived home.
Beef patty – very tasty! If the dough was slightly crispier, I would’ve melted on this pavement.
I will be back to try the lunch special because it’s a great special.
I would still travel 45 minutes to have my oxtails at Sunshine Jamaica
I would also like to mention that if you pay with a card a few additional charges apply. The menu list my oxtails plate $27 but the receipt has it as $28.08. The owner stated it was bc I used a card. I don’t like that each item gets a charge rather than 1 single charge. I’m the type of person that would only pay cash to save $2. But that’s just me.

Great service, the owner is so down to earth and welcoming. The food was delicious and well seasoned. I’m not big on Mac and cheese but theirs is FYE! I wish I would have ordered some cause I ate half of my wife’s. The jerk sauce is more savory than sweet (I like sweet) but still delicious! Good prices. I’ll def be back!
