My sister, nephew and I came to Ft Walton to take our cousin out for lunch. We wanted soul food so we googled and found this restaurant. The food was decent. I sampled the red beans and rice and they were really good but I decided on catfish and grits instead. It was good but the beans were better. Everyone said their food was okay. The customer service was great. I would return and I recommend giving them a try.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits while my husband enjoyed the Cajun shrimp. Big shoutout to the chef for an amazing job! The owner was incredibly friendly, and Anita is genuinely one of the best servers we’ve ever encountered. We can’t wait to come back! This is definitely a must-try!

This is true southern comfort food and Louisiana inspired cuisine. The gumbo has a deep rue and well developed flavors. If you like a chunky gumbo then this one might not be your favorite. The blackened chicken was tasty and the grilled pork chops smothered in gravy and mashed potatoes with that gravy were divine. This is really worth a try if you’re searching for something hearty. I will be back.

If you’re looking for authentic, mouthwatering Cajun cuisine, this is the place to be! The crawfish étouffée was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly seasoned, rich, and packed with flavor. The gumbo had that deep, slow-cooked taste that only true Southern cooking can deliver, with just the right amount of spice. And let’s talk about the Bam Bam Shrimp—crispy, juicy, and tossed in a deliciously tangy, slightly spicy sauce.
On top of the amazing food, our waitress Jennifer made the experience even better! She was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Her warm personality and excellent service truly made us feel at home. We can’t wait to come back! We even picked out our own booth

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch with family at Soul Cafe & Lounge.
The food was well seasoned and pleasantly placed on the platter. I don’t have to add salt and pepper to anything.
Appetizer – Fried Green Tomatoes
-The batter was seasoned well and the tomato slices weren’t too thick.
Meal – Jambalaya Pasta
– The red sauce was flavorful, noodles cooked well, and filled with shrimp and sausage.
Service – Pam was friendly, helpful, and treated us like family. We met the owner and 50 Cents look alike. Great people!!!
We’ll be back!

Walked in at noon on a Saturday with my partner. Only one other group was in the establishment and they immediately start telling me about how sweet Anita is, how amazing the environment is, and that the food is perfect. Anita came out of the kitchen with a smile and said to sit anywhere. The booths were very comfy and table size was roomy so you have space for your entree’s, drinks, sides, and a desert if you want to do a big order. You’ll want to do a big order. Anita offered me some delicious fall drink that tastes like juice but bites back. We started with the fried tomatoes. They were perfectly crunchy and came with a yummy mustard mayo sauce. We ordered a shrimp po boy and crawfish etouffee with a side of red beans and rice and Mac and cheese. The Po boy is a safe option but still delicious. They know how to get a good crunch but not make things super greasy. The crawfish etouffee was amazing. The flavor was deep and complex. It carried a nice spice that works with the dish. They also had a mix of fried crawfish alongside the peeled crawfish that allowed for a good variety in texture. I cant emphasize this enough. THIS WAS THE BEST RESTAURANT MAC AND CHEESE IVE EVER HAD. For those that don’t know me I am a cheese head and this blew me away. The red beans and rice were an absolute masterpiece. With no space left in our stomachs we braved the bread pudding. I cried. The bread pudding made me cry. Allegedly the pumpkin crisp was better. I believe Anita but I’m not sure my heart could take much more so we ended with that.

Food was great. Gumbo was real good. They didnt have the seafood gumbo but the regular gumbo was just fine. The gator bites were good. It could use a dipping sauce. Bread pudding was awesome

Finally some good food in Fort Walton Beach! After looking at the photos we decided to stop in and give it a try. Man, some of the best food I’ve had around here in a long time! The po-boy bread was so soft in the banana pudding was hands down the best I’ve ever had! Our waitress was amazing. She gave us recommendations and was SUPER friendly. Definitely stop by and try them!
