Our family came to dinner on Sunday night 3/8/26. The appetizers were delicious, the Sunday special (Prime Rib) was spectacular.. big portions and great quality food. The Mud Pie dessert was also very good. Edgar’s Restaurant is a special and cozy family-friendly dinner experience tucked in beautiful Carmel Valley.

Had a great brunch here! The fried chicken sandwich was awesome, coffee and cappuccino were spot on, and the mojito was super refreshing. Really good service too!

Went for lunch today, and it was really nice as usual. We’ve eaten here many times over the years. We sat outside and the weather was really nice.
The service was excellent and the food was very good. We had the Prosciutto and arugula flatbread and the roasted chicken club with salad. From where we sat, you could see the driving range and putting green.

The grand re-openning in April 2025 is a hit. New menu for dinners on the weekends is a huge hit.
Food is fresh and have a great smoke selection. Barbecue platter is plenty for two, prime rib on Sunday was smoked to perfection. The new menu has a good variety but Friday, Saturday and Sunday when open for dinner has the special of the day. Make reservations, it’s busy on the dinner nights.

Lunches are great too along with the patio view. Management has really turned this place around.

I wasn’t able to call and address this directly, so here’s my experience. I ordered the Farmers Market Salad with chicken and a water, while my husband got a flatbread pizza. Unfortunately, the meal left much to be desired:
1. The salad was missing the chicken I paid extra for, and it was completely drenched in balsamic dressing—with two extra containers of balsamic on the side. 2. It had GOAT CHEESE, which I absolutely hate!. I wouldn’t have ordered the salad if the menu had listed goat cheese as an ingredient. Because of this, I could only eat about a quarter of it, as the cheese had touched everything. 3. The water tasted like it came straight from an unfiltered tap—undrinkable.
4.The flatbread pizza was served cold, though it did taste decent. 5. No utensils to eat salad. No napkins 6. For all this, we paid $50.

Overall, this was a disappointing experience for the price. Better menu transparency and attention to detail could have made a big difference.
