The croissant was incredibly delicious. Perfect flakiness. The feeling was good but not overwhelming. The store is small. All I wanted was a croissant so I really couldn’t tell you about anything else that was there. Oh and of course I got a chocolate chip cookie! It was great

Slowly but surely becoming one of my favorite spots and definitely worth the short drive from Charles Village/Remington. Not only am I always greeted by the lovely staff but I’m never disappointed with what I purchase hence why I usually get two pastries –one savory and one sweet.

Speaking of pastries, not enough bakeries offer savory ones, or if they do, they’re only available on occasion. Maillard never fails to satisfy both sides of my palette, and frequently updates their menu/availability on Instagram.

Seating is limited because the space is so tiny. However, there’s seating available outside and the neighborhood is perfect for a stroll while enjoying your pastry.

And, of course, there’s coffee. ❤️

All of this is to say if you’re interested in delicious baked goods, go through the yellow door on Chestnut in Hampden.

I’m so happy I finally got to stop by… They have dangerously delicious pastries – all beautiful and tasty! The woman at the counter was very friendly and helped me narrow down my choices (I ended up getting 2 things instead of the 5 I wanted) lol. There are a couple small tables inside for when it is not ridiculously busy. The baked goods rotate pretty regularly as well. Just be mindful of the steps, they are quite steep!

It’s a cute bakery shop with a table and couple of chairs but tbh I wasn’t blown away by the rhubarb scone I got. There were definitely rhubarb pieces in it but overall the scone was ordinary. Think scone from Panera.

I tried a piece of chocolate croissant that my friend and that was better. So maybe get croissants from here over scones?

Amazing service, really sweet person attended us. The ham and cheese croissant was SO good- the cheese was some magical wizardry I wasn’t expecting. Choc chip cookies super delicious as well.

We went in at about 10 am , there was one person ahead of us. When I tell you as soon as I placed our order an influx of people walked in. We tried several items which were all delish . My favs are Chocolate Chip Cookies and Coffee Cake Muffin .

Tried this for the first time today after hearing good things about the everything croissant and it didn’t disappoint! The almond croissant is definitely top 3 in all of baltimore but the crown jewel right now is the pecan praline paris brest. No notes, 10/10. We will definitely be back to try more! Ate everything so fast there aren’t any pictures to share but that just means you’ll have to go see for yourself.

Sitting in Maillard Pastries for 20 minutes eating a perfectly-baked croissant, I listened as the worker greeted customer after customer by name with genuine conversation. The sight shows what kind of place Maillard Pastries is- a neighborhood bakery that cares.

It’s a small spot inside a rowhouse in Hampden, but it’s cozy. Most people get their baked goods to-go, but there are a few small tables for those who want to stay.

My chocolate croissant was perfectly flaky on the outside while being warm and soft on the inside. The chocolate to dough ratio is just right.

So this bakery was closed for the winter and I had been waiting to get here because I’m a big French bakery person and heard good things. I wished they posted news when they’re short term closed on IG or latest pastries for the week or something.

This bakery has surprisingly high quality pastries— maybe even one of the best ones in Baltimore. Bakeries need to be better than “Whole Foods” to make it around here I think….

Staff were nice and welcoming.

The interior decor doesn’t reflect how good every pastry was. It was kind of dark but we weren’t there for an experience (although more lighting could be good). As for the food, you could tell the detail and ingredients and their combination were all quality.

We had the

– lemon tart (REAL GOOD)
– Plain croissant (my test to see how legit the place is; surprisingly very good)
– Mushroom Quiche (the flavor of this was so tasty and texture of the egg was perfect and had quality flavor)
– Hand pie with pineapple filling (you need to get this. It was so good and so unique)

This a real neighborhood gem! My only feedback is that it needs a little more fancy factor to keep it up (packaging? Lighting / display?)

So support this local business! And go here if you want a treat or to get something quality for the office!

Far and away the best croissants I’ve ever had. The bakers here are extremely talented. The cakes and other desserts are also god tier. Would strongly recommend.

Update: The scones are out of this world too.

Update: Morning buns and pineapple danish are to die for.

Update late 2022: I have now been frequenting Maillard Patisserie for 6 months since they opened. Their quality and variety of pastries has considerably increased. Caitlin, the owner and head baker, is an absolute pastry genius. She now offers everything from croissants to galettes to cookies to cakes and everything in between. Every single thing I’ve ever had from here was the best in category that I’ve ever had. I couldn’t possibly recommend this place more. It’s one of the best establishments in all of baltimore and far and away the best pastries and cakes I’ve ever had.
