IIt is local, easy to get to. Great classic healthy soul food. A great variety available daily. Great friendly efficient staff. Warm and friendly. Knowledgeable about whats in the food and how its prepared. The food is fresh so its worth the small waiting time. Come chill out after work or lunchtime. My first time was yesterday and I had a fish sandwich it was great. They let me sample the Mac and Cheese it was the best since mommy. Can’t wait to get back on Monday morning for breakfast !!!

I saw the reviews and was nearby with my son, Goddaughter, her son and nephew. Easy Sunday parking right on the street and quick walk to the door. I started getting nervous when we ordered the lightweight wings which came with two sides but we could only get pre made sides in the display. Even more nervous when they didn’t have standard fare: greens not ready for 3 hours, no whiting since it is apparently out of season. Umm it’s in the freezer at shop rite and I can get it at any major fish market fresh year round.
Well thank goodness because the yams were delicious and my son loved the mac and cheese. The free drink that came with the light weight was unexpected and while there only 3 wing dings it was plenty with the large helping of sides. I will definitely be back again if in the area.
The music was wonderful and made me not want to leave although finished eating. Great prices, nice food and location

The food is always a hit or miss. They are expensive and they stopped giving free drinks with a $9 small plate. The music is always too loud. The staff isn’t friendly. It’s overrated. Also they no longer grill chicken they only fry it That’s a huge disappointment and dumb decision.

When it comes to Soul Food this is the prototype of how a soul food restaurant should look like(Clean),how the food should taste (Great)and how the service should be (Professional). The fish is fresh,the chicken you can get it how you like, baked or fried,the Mac and Cheese is The Bomb Dot Com,the corn bread baked fresh everyday,the greens are delicious,and the masked potato should be placed on the stock market. This is the best Soul Food Restaurant in Jersey hands down!

Well I decided to try this Place they didn’t have fried chicken? Strange so I got curry chicken, greens potato salad Mac/cheese I was a bit disappointed the portions were plenty, but the Mac had sour cream in it , the greens had to many large stems, potato salad had onions and chucks of undone potatos curry chicken was good. Undecided if I will revisit.
