The service was friendly and attentive. My server was polite and even addressed me by my last name after swiping my card, which added a personal touch that made the experience feel a bit more special.
I ordered the fried catfish, fried shrimp, and fried crawfish with fries—clearly, I came ready to enjoy a full seafood moment! The portions were generous, and I appreciated receiving a whole catfish fillet rather than a smaller cut piece. My personal preference would be for a slightly firmer fry and a bit more seasoning to bring out the full flavor. The fries were fresh and hot, though the taste was a bit different than I expected—possibly from being served immediately in the container while still very hot.
Overall, this is a bright, friendly spot with great service and generous portions. With a few small tweaks to match personal taste preferences, it has the potential to become a regular go-to. I’m glad I gave it a try and would definitely recommend stopping by and experiencing it for yourself!
Most staff is bilingual in Spanish and English so that’s nice. I came here at lunch time and it was lovely. Great vibes and asthetic. Plus the outside seating has great shading.
Ordered a 6 pc shrimp basket with a mix of fries and onion rings. And I’m gonna say, the hush puppies were really good they had corn in them. Shrimp was something different than I’ve had it served to me before, it was good.
I wish they had battered fries instead of those steak fries. Fries didn’t have much seasoning and were bland so I don’t recommend that. I hope to try their soups soon.
Restroom is quite small so not very wheelchair friendly.
Overall great vibes.
Unfortunately, our waitress was brand new. Our Cesar salad was served *after* we ate dinner. Then waving down our waitress to get our check was a fail cuz she didn’t look at us after delivering the salad. Other two waitresses tried to get her to help us, only to have one of them get our check.
We started with the chips & salsa. Appetizer Rockefeller Oysters,- cooked good & there’s red sauce had me licking the oyster- shh.
I got the shrimp enchiladas with creamy sauce. Trailous got the Fried shrimp & (real) fish combo. Everything was good. The French fries are real potatoes. We will be back. Oh and we got a free margarita- which was also good.
We will definitely be back. Highly recommend Lela’s. Our server Billy was nice & attentive. Thanks Billy really good food – came with great service!
First time and definitely not last!
We tried fried shrimp , tacos gobernador, shrimp tacos and they even have THE best menudo in the area (that we know of).
A lovely outdoor sitting area too.
Oh so happy to have a new place to come and enjoy fresh, delicious ,well served not-fast-food
Valet parking required, cost: tip.
Greeted upon entry.
Everyone was friendly
Small on the inside, but not to tight.
Very clean. Nice atmosphere.
Free chips and salsa, which were good.
They offered free margaritas, but I don’t drink.
Menu has a lot of options and affordable.
I had the Filete Al Carbon.
The fish was very blend (no season), but very tender. When I told the server she was nice enough to bring me a sauce to put on it, that she recommended.
The black beans and lime rice was good. However, I had to eat around sections of the rice that was hard.
The avocado was fresh, so was the corn tortillas., and the side tomatoe and red onions was good.
The sweet tea was also good.
