We were greeted with a warm welcome and friendly smile as soon as we walked in. It’s a seat-yourself place, so we wandered in and found the perfect spot.
Our waitress, Corrina, was sweet and efficient, quickly attending to our table and taking our drink order. She returned promptly with our beverages, mentioned a few highlights from the menu, and took our food order. Once the food hit the table, we decided to try some of the beer on tap. Blue Moon was our favorite, and at just $4 a glass, it solidified this place as a fantastic local watering hole.
Corrina did an excellent job. She was personable, engaging, quick to refill drinks without us asking, and removed empty plates promptly. Her timing was impeccable, showcasing wonderful customer service skills.
**The Food Order:** I promptly chose the crispy beef tacos—three for $10—while my crew ordered the BBQ pork nachos.
The taco shells were delightfully crunchy, filled with ground beef, shredded iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese, and tomatoes. They were enjoyable for the price, but we agreed the meat was a tad salty. A more traditional seasoning mix of garlic, onion, smoked paprika, black pepper, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, and cumin could have elevated them to greatness.
The nachos, on the other hand, were a triumph. If the chips are good, the toppings only enhance them, and here they excelled. I’m still craving those crispy house-made chips. Topped with BBQ pork and baked beans, these nachos offered a delicious twist on the traditional and paired amazingly well together.
Did I mention the $4 beers?!! Between the stage with live bands, dance lessons, pool table, shuffleboard table, darts, corn hole, and ample outdoor seating, this place is absolutely worthy of a pull-off from HWY 93. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, The Chuck Wagon Bar and Grill offers a fantastic spot for good food, great drinks, and plenty of fun.
It’s a nice place to come and get good food and chill.
