Great little hidden sandwich spot, wish I had known about this place sooner. The chicken Caesar salad was perfect! Everything tasted fresh, the chicken was nicely seasoned and they gave me 2 containers of dressing on the side, so I was able to put the exact amount I wanted on it. They do not skimp on the chicken, so the salad was actually very filling. There was a lady who cut in line in front of me, I was a little peeved but I had already ordered and I knew mine would be finished first anyway, so it wasn’t a big deal, but the gentleman at the counter actually mentioned it to her, which I was impressed by. I like it when businesses pay attention to how customers are treating each other and enforce a code of conduct, it helps make for a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Five stars all around. Needless to say, I’ll be a returning customer.

Came here for a chicken pesto and noticed no one seemed to wash their hands or use gloves while preparing the sandwiches and on top of they they forgot who ordered it so I got my sandwich 10 minutes after someone who came in after me and ordered the same thing

Mayhew deli is an amazing deli. The service and food are delightful. The main lady that serves me and my three friends makes the best sandwiches known ever such a great lady. Great store slept on most definitely should go there every Wednesday after school.

Mayhew Deli is my favorite deli around Sacramento. The staff and owner are friendly and very professional. Anything I’ve ordered has been fresh and delicious, from the sandwiches to the salads to the chili. It’s all made in house!! And anything they dont make like the breads, is from local bakeries and suppliers. I have a dairy allergy and they have no problem with the little changes I ask for. I recommend any and every one to try out Mayhew Deli. It’s June of 2025 and I still can’t stop myself from getting the salads here. Still top notch food and service. I’m going to be a lifelong customer for sure.
