Well, I finally found the one good restaurant in Hanover. The menu is straight forward and simple for dinner or lunch. Burgers, hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches. The breakfast menu looks more extensive.
Now I just had a good old fashioned burger, but boy did it hit the spot. Tasted like a burger should. Started off with an Onion Rose appetizer which was similar to a Blooming Onion but not nearly as big or breaded. But it was the sweetest onion I’ve had in a long time. Nice fresh salad with a delicious homemade ranch dressing is worth mentiong. The potato salad is also quite a good choice for a side. There also was a prime rib special on the night I went and my son got that. I stole a bite and it was very good.
The owner/chef and the server were super friendly and we chatted for a while during and after dinner. They gave us some free samples of the BBQ and cole slaw to try. Also really good.
I was happy to find a restaurant in Hanover that stands out. Refreshing to find some place that’s a little out of the box with a local flair. Looking forward to going back.

Breakfast was great, owner was very nice. Homemade sausage was good, everything tasted like breakfast at home. Great prices too, especially for homemade. Can’t recommend it enough.

I have had breakfast twice at Cabbage Rose and really enjoyed the delicious food and atmosphere as well as the kind owner who is a great cook Good food, down home atmosphere, reasonable prices. I wish more people would check this place out…it is well worth it. Going back very soon!
