The Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco is beautiful and the scenery is so peaceful and well kept. The cashier was really kind, and the chicken karaage was surprisingly good, even better than some restaurants in the city. Haha, definitely worth a visit!

The atmosphere was great. However, everyone else received a proper presentation of their food and snacks, while I was given a plastic box. This inconsistency made me feel unfairly treated and potentially discriminated against.
Saw another review by a Korean customer also complained about discrimination.

The location here is fantastic. It’s very relaxing to drink tea amidst the beautiful gardens.
The tea itself is good, but not incredible. The snack selection is nice, but again nothing amazing. The prices are reasonable. The service is kind of slow, but admittedly we were there at a pretty busy time; I’m not sure if that’s always the case.
Overall the location carries this experience, and the offerings are good enough to not distract. Definitely worth stopping for a moment to relax.

My friend and I had a pleasant breakfast here after checking out the Tea Garden. I got the edamame and we both got one chicken karaage, which were nothing to write home about but the teas were top notch.
Considering where the restaurant is, the prices are very reasonable and service was very polite and quick.
Would come back

It’s simply a mini picture area. With cafe inside. If you just interested in Japanese part and not rest of the park it’s not worth paying and will take you 10 minutes to see all parts. But if you already bought the ticket and looking for a place to chill and eat some mochi it’s this place.

I think for what it is, it’s great. I’m giving it a 5. It’s in a BEAUTIFUL garden and the surroundings are just surreal. Yes, you gotta deal with visitors and tourists sitting there with you messing with the serene vibes but it’s a great place to get a snack and then walk to some other bench that’s quiet.

A small little tea house in the Japanese Tea Garden. I didn’t think you could actually enjoy tea in the tea garden (funny, right?), so this was really exciting.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you about the tea, since I ordered some miso soup instead. You can order to-go or for-here with cash or card, and they’ll bring your food to your spot after paying. It was fine, a little pricey, of course. I would say this item was worth about 2 or 3 dollars, but it cost me about 5. It tasted like most miso soups I’ve had at sushi places, but what made it so special was the view and the setting in which I ate it. Even a tiny bowl of soup with a plastic spoon in it looks incredible with the garden as a backdrop.
Get something small and cheap here if you’re really hungry, and eat a real meal outside. The price is mostly for the atmosphere and the experience rather than the food or service. Overall, 4/5.

Food was good, seating is a bit limited and there was a decent line on the weekend. I personally didn’t like the dango, too sweet and not a great flavor.

This adorable Japanese tea house has a lot of fun treats to offer. I came here on two occasions and tried different things each time. I was so pleasantly surprised with that they had to offer. Unfortunately, they are often out of the dango which was what I was looking forward to the most. I’d highly suggest trying any of the teas they have to offer. The matcha however, was exceptional.
