I am so happy this place has reopened! I got the ribs with the string beans and rice and gravy with an extra side of baked beans. The four large ribs were absolutely delicious and super tender in a rich barbecue sauce. The string beans were amazing and I got a nice chunk of smoked turkey in with them. The rice and gravy was amazing as were the beans. I could drink this gravy through a straw it’s that good! My son-in-law got the pork chop which was breaded and deep fried to a crispy perfection and moist inside, with the cabbage and baked beans. The cornbread is absolutely fantastic and I got a side of gravy to dunk it in. I got the strawberry cake for dessert which was so tasty. The owners are wonderful and friendly people who treat you right. The other customers there were equally impressed and very nice. I can’t wait to eat there again!

Four of us bought numerous dishes to take home and taste. There was not an item we didn’t love – fried chicken, fried pork chops, corn bread, collard greens, black eyed peas, baked beans, mac n’ cheese, and four different desserts made by grandma! Great, great soul food!

Always a pleasure. Portion size to price is a reasonable, can’t complain. It’ may have a bit of shell shock when you get the oxtail, but understanding that oxtail prices are through the roof its justifiable.

My picky family have no problem ordering from here, and not one complaint..except they ran out of my favor item so I had to go to my back up.

Overall recommend you try it. Pepper steak was a fan favor. Oxtail second best. IMHO.

After shopping my husband and I wanted soul food instead of the “food court”. So we googled best soul food restaurants in Syracuse and decided on this location since it popped up first and the reviews were good. We were not disappointed! The food was exceptional!! I had the smothered pork chops, cabbage and Mac-n- cheese. My husband had the fried haddock, dirty rice and cabbage. The food is made to order so everything was fresh and hot! The portions were large so come with a big appetite!
Atmosphere was rated a 2 because there were no dining in. However the owner accommodated us and allowed us to dine in since we were eager to eat. If you are in town and don’t want mall food the 3 mile ride is definitely worth it. My apologies for not getting the owner name because her and the manager (“Nunu” ) kept us laughing!!

We just ordered a nice amount of food. Cabbage, Mac & Cheese, Dirty Rice, Cornbread, Pork Chops, Chicken wings, Brownies, Strawberry Shortcake cups, Sweet potato pie! Everything was absolutely delicious, seasoned perfectly, hot, fresh, and the owners welcoming and sweet. This place was a 10 out of 10! A+++++++++++

My husband and I ordered from here for the first time tonight. We love food, and had heard some good things about A Touch of Soul. I got the haddock meal, and oh my goodness… the breading/batter on the fish was by far the best I have had. It was just beautifully seasoned and balanced.. I could taste the spices and there was the perfect amount of salt. By far my favorite haddock in the area. My husband got the rib sandwich and loved the BBQ sauce. He also got the BBQ chicken and it’s sauce tasted slightly different and he liked that one as well. I got the greens and did find them a touch salty, and while they did try to package it so the juice wouldn’t hit my fish, it did so a bit, but that still didn’t kill the amazing flavor on the fish. Overall, we were happy with our food, which lately is not something I would say often. I felt things were fairly priced given the flavor, and I felt like the cooks/owners really cared about their food! So I definitely recommend, and try the haddock!

Food is good. Attention to detail like packaging food needs improvement. You brag to someone about how good the food is and order a delivery and it’s horrible. When you want some good crispy fish and get greens on the side and all your collard green juice is under your fish. It’s a soggy mess. Not trying to drag you all but the meal’s definitely aren’t cheap, I expect better care when packaging. Maybe get small containers for sides with a lot of juices so that people’s chicken and fish are actually crispy when they get it and not soggy. Only 2 stars because this happened multiple times. You fix that and you are a 5 star easy.

I ordered via doordash, but the food was phenomenal, delicious, and on point. The cornbread…omg, the cornbread moist buttery deliciousNess. I will be ordering again. Oh, and by the way I had the haddock meal w/ potato salad & collard greens. P.S. The banana pudding was sooo good.

10/10!!!!! The name of this place really stands for the cooking here. You can tell this food was made with passion. The ribs were falling off the bone tender and saucy, collard greens were seasoned perfectly, and the salt potatoes were very tender as well. This is the best BBQ I have ever had. I also loved how it came with cornbread and extra sauce if you needed it. The sweet potato pie is to die for. Absolutely wonderful food. Definitely going to go there again!!
