The food is decent, better then a lot of other spanish food establishments in the city. Gave it 4 stars considering a couple of times the flavor was lacking & the fritura (fried food) hot box barely has anything readily available to grab & go.

The worst food I have ever had in my life! If I wasn’t so far away when I began to eat my food I would have gone back for a refund. The food is bland, no flavor at all and the rice was mushy. Find another spot. Oh and they charge a $1 to use your debit/credit card.

Overpriced.. Most foods are delicious. The only problem is the large portions of rice and small portions of meat. When your done you’ll have a bunch of rice leftover. The pork isn’t that great.. When ordering the pierna or pork 80percent is nothing but hard skin.. The only thing that is worth going to picalonga for us that baked chicken for 3 dollars.. Other than that I’m going around the corner to the food market on Queen.. More selection..

Long wait, unfriendly. Food tasted like it was left over from the other day. Let me not even mention the so called salad? This is unacceptable

First time here and I have to say the food was amazing! I don’t like just any macaroni salad but this place does it well

You know it’s going to be good, when there’s already a line 15minutes after they open. Expect a line, but it’s so worth it. Pork is moist, yellow rice and beans flavorful
And the serving of a large will feed 2 easy $13. I wish I would have gotten some empanadas, they looked yummy too

I’ve only been in York a short while. I was searching for Spanish cuisine when I came upon Picalonga Sabor Tropical Restaurant! I walked to it and had the best Spanish food I’ve had in York! The pork was amazing, beans and rice, great, the pastelon was so good and the empanadas were crispy and delicious! The young lady working there was very sweet and helped me identify all the delicious looking entrees! The food was so good, I called the restaurant and thanked them, “my compliments to the chef”! I highly recommend Picalonga and I can’t wait to go back! I plan to become a regular! Awesome food, thank you very much!!

Threw up after eating white rice with steak. I puked and my wife told me it smelled like their food. The people are nice but the atmosphere is sad. Only a couple tables cleaning supplies lying around. Old vacuums collecting dust in the corner. Unused or broken drink fridge. Only a takeout type of place. Their food is already prepped and you choose what you want. We did go an hour before closing so maybe their food sat around all day

Their food has that real Dominican flavor.
Cooked fresh daily. Get in at 11:00 and everything is right off the stove.
This is my daughter’s favorite spot.
