First time trying their food, and it was amazing! I love Portuguese food and was hopeful. I got the Peri Peri Chicken sandwich and it was the best chicken sandwich ive ever had!! The chicken was so juicy, the Peri peri sauce was just spicy enough and the house made Portuguese bun was so perfect!! Soft inside and just enough crisp on the outer crust. It ate so easily and tasted lovely! Definitely going back and would recommend to anyone wanting to try some delicious hand made and locally sourced food. So good!!!

I had the steak sandwich ( most popular)soup and root mash. I have a new fav spot. They said they were going to be opening up soon for lunch. Get ready to be so busy. This food is so very delicious. I wish there was a six star. For sure, some of the best food I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. The soup is incredible. I brought some home for my babies, they absolutely love the soup. That steak sandwich was melt in your mouth good. Oh, and the root mash was party in my mouth!!! I can’t wait to go again!!!

I’m upset I don’t live closer—this place is unbelievable. Amazing vegetarian options and superb service. I ordered the vegan BLT with pasta salad. First, the pasta salad was the best I’ve ever had: the noodles were nice and thick, and the vegan mayo was just exquisite. Second, the vegan BLT was otherworldly—the tempeh was perfectly salty, and the homemade roll was delightful. You can tell the owners take pride in the food they cook and serve. Next time I’m in Pensacola, I will definitely return!

I’ve dined here twice now and each experience has been excellent. Kyree, Eric, and Stacey are all lovely people which adds to the good vibes of the restaurant. The first time, I had the hash with sausage and got the tarragon chicken salad to go, both delicious. The second time, I was offered gluten free biscuits and gravy they are testing out. I’m currently enjoying the leftovers. Amazing flavor with a lot of green onions. Anyone who knows me knows I will literally “risk it for the biscuit” so I’m thrilled to have a gluten free choice. My friends got the burger with potato salad (said it tastes just like her late aunt used to make) and the chicken salad sandwich. Of course, I had to get more chicken salad to go the second time! It’s going to be a staple in my fridge.

We had a great experience at the Steel Pony Diner! The whole family enjoyed their meal. They definitely know what they are doing here. Eric was our server AND chef, and let me tell you, he is amazing at what he does. My mom is a bacon connoisseur and she said this is the best bacon she’s had in Pensacola and I have to agree. Of course we asked where they get their bacon and Kai told us it is just normal bacon – they just learned how to perfect it! I had the gluten free biscuits and gravy and it was soooo good! The home fries were the best I’ve had. We will more than likely be regulars here going forward.

The staff is so incredibly kind and attentive! You must have the “Pony Sauce” it is delicious with all foods! I’d also like to shout out the Portuguese rolls, they’re so soft and delicious! The French toast is soooooo good! I could absolutely taste the love and care put into the food! 10/10 recommend!! ❤️ Will be back for sure!

We dine-in for Lunch! I truly enjoyed everything about the food. I recommend the Portuguese Steak so tender with Flavor Through and Through. Portuguese Soup, Pasta Salad was awesome! I haven’t had a Portuguese soda in about a decade. Love the atmosphere. You can eat, quiet conversation, and joy the mood music to unwind your mind. Definitely Recommend!

The Steel Pony Diner was absolutely delicious! Our waiter (who is also one of the owners) Ky was very kind, personable, and attentive! The service was great and the food was excellent! Out of everything my family ordered, everyone’s favorite item that we tried was the hash smothered in sauce, peppers, and sausage. We highly recommend this diner!
P.S. Don’t get confused – the diner is located inside the same building as the coffee shop. Different starter restaurants use the same location. The Steel Pony Diner does breakfast and lunch at this location while hoping to open their own stand alone restaurant in the future. Don’t let this stop you from going! It was great and we hope one day they’re able to open their own location!
