I came upon this restaurant when out working in the area. The entrance looked very plain, but inside it was very nice and clean, well taken care of to be sure. I liked the golf club display at the entry which taught me about Taylor Made’s history in McHenry. There is a lot of space for a small wedding banquet. When I went, it was very quiet as it was not the height of summer. The food was not too expensive for a country club restaurant open to public, portion size was great, and fries were crispy. Nice view of the water way behind the building.

Finally, riverside dining that is quiet and relaxed! Unlike other resturaunts off the chain, the outside seating here is so serene and it feels like you’re on your own backyard patio. My fiance and I came for dinner and loved everything we ordered. We sat outside for one of the last nice nights of the season and even though we were the only people there, the staff turned on the patio lights and a fire pit for us to enjoy. We sat by the fire for a while after dinner just enjoying drinks. We will definitely be back!

I never write reviews, but feel I’d be doing everyone considering having an event here a disservice if I didn’t. My family and I were interested in having my bridal shower here. My mother in law had placed a $500 deposit down with Monica to reserve a date, and we were met with scarce communication and horrible customer service since. We would try to reach out via email, text, and phone to try to get some follow up with planning our event and get zero response. The only times we would ever hear from Monica was when she was defensive and to give us poor excuses for her lack of communication. Then she would gaslight us by telling us we never messaged her, despite us having receipts! We requested to cancel our event before we got any further, and she refused to give us our deposit back. So we paid $500 for disappointment and a headache. Needless to say we did not have my shower here and had to have it elsewhere.

Do NOT plan any sort of events here. We worked with Monica and tried to plan a bridal shower. She will happily take your $500 deposit but after numerous calls, emails, texts they never get back to you. Obviously we needed to iron out details for our shower as its a big day and with the no response, we found another venue. When we finally got a hold of Monica we wanted to cancel and get our refund but was told she cant because its non refundable. Will never eat here or go here again.

Went there with my family to celebrate my first mothers day. We went at 2pm for their Mother’s Day brunch when we walked in a lot of the food looked gone through and scarce. The food was cold, pancakes hard and the skillet was very oily. We had the table for 1 1/2 hrs and they started clearing out the table 45min into brunch. The dessert table only had a few items left you can tell everyone from earlier in the day has gone through, whatever was left had flys on it. Do not recommend this place. For the price I could have went to a much nicer restaurant with hot food. Regular soft drinks weren’t even included in the buffet price. Ridiculous and a waste of money.

The worst dining experience of my life. The food is cold (if it’s even available). Obviously understaffed. No clean plates available. Seems like they don’t clean anything, It is visible dirty with mess that’s been left out for what looks like hours. The hostess was literally sobbing at the check in stand when we walked in. What is going on here? Never again.

Had not been to the restaurant in years. They serve their food at a local summer event we attend so we thought we would go to the restaurant again. The restaurant is part of Mchenry Golf Club. It is open to the public. We went a few weeks ago and they had live music, sat at tye bar but then outside for dinner. The food was amazing! We then sat by the fire and watched the boater on the river. We went just recently with the kids. Everyone enjoyed their food : fish fry, salads, appetizers, burgers…. it was a great meal with outstanding service. The night was reasonably priced too for all we got. Will be a new favorite location and highly recommend.
