Walked in and was promptly greeted and told can sit anywhere. We picked a seat near the windows and waitress brought menus for us.
She was back in a minute or so and took our drink order. Few minutes later brought our drinks, they have root beer on tap so had to have it
Ordered was Fried chicken sandwhich with fries, Black and blue burger with slaw, and kids chicken tenders with apple sauce.
The fried Chicken in the sandwhich was hand prepared and breaded (nice light breading) and had a bbq sauce on it, nice simple sandwhich on a toasted bun. Fries were hand cut and not over cooked with simple salt and pepper seasoning.
The Black and Blue burger was cooked perfectly with a surprise of Dijon mustard which nicely complimented the blue cheese. Fortunately my wife split it and gave me half up front as if I would have asked during the meal I wouldn’t have been able to try it. Slaw was a little sweet for her taste but was nice and creamy, that said she finished it all, putting some of it on some fries.
The kids chicken tenders were prepared same as the fried chicken and was all white meat.
Overall a very pleasant surprise, great food and friendly service. We’ll be back to try other items.
Upon arrival, we ordered food and beverages from the bar, paying upfront. However, to our surprise, we were left to retrieve our own drinks without any assistance from wait staff. This lack of service foreshadowed the ordeal that followed.
We endured nearly two hours of waiting for our food, during which we repeatedly inquired about the status of our order. Each time, our concerns were met with dismissive responses such as, “Can’t you see we are busy here!” The staff’s attitude was appalling, lacking even basic courtesy or empathy.
Despite our efforts, no one among the staff was willing to provide their name or offer a meaningful explanation for the delay. Meanwhile, our children, aged 9, 6, and 3, grew increasingly hungry and upset, eventually reaching tears.
In the end, we made the difficult decision to leave the establishment without receiving any food, let alone an apology or explanation from the staff. Instead, we were subjected to rude comments as we departed.
Such disregard for customer satisfaction and basic decency is simply unacceptable. We intend to dispute all charges related to this ordeal and share our harrowing experience with as many people as possible. It’s clear that “Oak 19 fare and refreshments” does not deserve to remain in business if this is the level of service they provide.
We urge others to think twice before patronizing this establishment, as our experience serves as a stark warning of the disrespect and incompetence that awaits unsuspecting customers.
