Probably the best truffle fries I’ve had in my life!
Dropped in for a quick snack at the Plaza and was pleasantly impressed with the service and the food! Since the bar is first come first served, you do have to wait however, we took time to visit the store and gaze at the decorations and by the time we got back, someone was leaving!
Thank you Plaza staff!

TL;DR: Beautiful bar inside The Plaza with classy cocktails, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Pricey but worth it for the experience.
Stopped by The Plaza for a drink and it was exactly what I hoped for. The bar feels refined without being stuffy. The cocktails were balanced and refreshing. We tried two different ones and both were excellent. Service was attentive and professional, and the staff made the visit feel special even though we just stopped in for a quick drink.
The setting is what really makes it: marble everywhere, warm lighting, and that mix of old New York charm with a bit of movie nostalgia (the Eloise corner is a nice touch).
If you’re nearby and want a calm, elegant place to unwind, this spot is perfect. Definitely a splurge, but you’re paying for the experience as much as the drinks.

Like many others, I visited The Plaza Hotel with the Home Alone scenes in mind.
The Champagne Bar in the lobby felt gorgeous and special, and the staff provided warm, attentive, and professional service.
I came here specifically to try the iconic “Kevin’s Ice Cream Sundae.” Unfortunately, desserts cannot be ordered on their own.
So I had to order a salad as a meal. It was delicious, of course, but I was too full to really enjoy both the salad and the ice cream.
Based on Google Maps reviews, I was expecting a playful sundae topped with M&Ms, but what I received was a much more elegant, refined version. It looked beautiful, but it didn’t quite capture the nostalgic charm of the movie, which left me a little disappointed.
As expected from a top-tier hotel, everything is quite pricy. Still, it’s worth visiting at least once. If you’re dining alone, walk-ins are possible.

Terrible experience. Went in with my sister for a drink, the server could have cared less that she had to serve us, the bar was empty and it took 20 minutes to get our drinks, when we were served our drinks, the one drink was supposed to be “rimmed with black salt” that was a joke (see picture below) when we asked to return the drink and get a new one the server rolled her eyes and eventually brought us a replacement drink. When we were brought our bill, the tip was already included(18%), with the expectation of a tip on top of that. We were looking forward to having a drink at a plaza our entire trip and it was absolutely ruined by the snobbery of the staff. Extremely disappointed. Because of the prestige of this hotel they don’t have to care about the patronage that comes in to the bar because they will never go out of business. Save your money, don’t go to plaza. Take some pictures if you want and spend your money somewhere else. We got two drinks and including the self determined tip it came out to $80. absolutely ridiculous.

Had the chance to get a few cocktails there today, and even though it is heavily overpriced, it was worth the experience!
Our bartender Laura was really cool, friendly and professional! She made some delicious cocktails, while entertaining us with stories.
I also had some great conversations with two of the servers; Larry and Andrei. Both were very nice and friendly. They were super attentive to each and every guests walking thru the lobby. Really glamorous place, awesome cocktails, and outstanding staff!

The Champagne Bar at the iconic The Plaza Hotel in New York, is exactly the place where elegance meets a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. During our stay at The Plaza hotel (you can read more about The Plaza hotel in our next review), we returned to the Champagne bar several times. We enjoyed the Onion Soup, Daily Soup, perfectly crispy Truffle Fries, beautifully prepared Seared Faroe Islands Salmon with delicate mashed potatoes and asparagus, Caesar Salad with shrimps and next day without shrimps, the classic Club Sandwich, and the iconic The Plaza Wagyu Burger. A sweet finale came in the form of an Ice Cream selection, delighting not only the little ones and as a treat they brought us a delicious chocolate cake. From the children’s menu, we tried the Organic City Child Chicken and the playful Skipperdee’s Sneakers — both offering a level of quality and presentation you would expect from “adult” dishes as well. All dishes were exceptionally flavorful, beautifully presented, and prepared with great attention to detail. Special thanks go to Larry for his professional, warm, and attentive service, which elevated the entire experience into a truly New York moment. A tasty buffet breakfast is also served at the Champagne Bar.
A place you’ll be happy to return to ✨

exactly what you would expect! an afternoon pit stop for a delicious glass of champagne. for walk ins you can only (usually) sit at the bar, which is lovely however there are only 5 seats available, so pick your time wisely as otherwise you won’t be able to get a seat! i would recommend a booking but i would say sitting at the bar is much better than a table…

What a stunning venue to grab a drink! We literally loved coming here and although it was originally to live out our “Home Alone 2” dream, I’m so glad that we had drinks at The Champagne Bar.
The bartender, whose name I can’t remember off the top of my head, was amazing and told us lots of stories about the hotel and all the people who had visited in the past. He was really kind and friendly and had been working there about 25+ years! He also gave us postcards that could then be mailed off to our family – it was such a cute idea and our family members loved it.
We loved coming here for a calm and quiet drink and would definitely recommend a visit!
