I had the guacamole dip appetizer and a Mountain Dew to drink. Their salsa has great flavor and I really appreciated the fresh pico with the guacamole. I was told about the specials and just went basic with the steak fajitas. They were delicious. Heavy on onions but that’s perfectly fine with me.
I look forward to going back and exploring more of the menu.
There were no other patrons dining in or picking up food during our entire experience.
When we ordered our drinks, my husband ordered a Dr. Pepper first, our kids ordered, then I also asked for a Dr. Pepper to be told they only had diet. Neither my husband nor myself drink diet. I guess it’s a good thing she said something after I ordered Dr. Pepper, so my husband wouldn’t have had a surprise when he received a diet beverage. We switched to Mt. Dew.
When they brought the chips and salsa to the table, they were very stingy with the salsa. It did seem homemade, but there was very little of it. We also ordered some cheese dip. To our dismay, it wasn’t even melted all the way!
When the food arrived, the taco salad was sitting in liquid. I have never received one in such condition. The burrito was enormous, but lukewarm and lacked flavor. I would prefer quality food over a large quantity of bland food. The chimichanga was warm, and the steak was flavorful. But this is not enough to bring us back, considering the bill was $75. Which we did not see once, because the credit card machine was down and we offered to pay in cash.
There was no atmosphere. Save for three pictures on one wall, you wouldn’t even know you were in a Mexican restaurant until you saw a menu.
Our family is always excited to try new restaurants and add to our list of places to go when we want to treat ourselves. This experience was no treat. For a $75 meal (not including tip), we will not be back.
My wife and I like La Grand Fiesta for atmosphere, but for quality and selection of food, RG’s and Pastor’s are the best in town.
