My favorite sushi staple in Anaheim because they were so careful about being gluten-free and they were open until midnight every night.

I have Celiac and DH, skin Celiac, so I’m extremely careful when it comes to eating out. I’m also from AZ but in Cali for the summer and trying to enjoy as much fresh fish and seafood as possible. I had a GF spicy yellowtail at a cute place near Huntington beach but found this place on Google maps and saw they clearly state what they have that is GF. We ate there as soon as they opened yesterday, May 30, 2024 and my first thoughts were the location was awesome. It’s directly across from the parking garage that has first two hours free on the ground level and the little district it’s in is very clean and new looking. The restaurant appears family owned and operated because they had their kids in there and looked like the only other patrons that were before us may have been friends or family. There were a few people who popped in for to-go orders while we were eating, also.
We ordered the spicy garlic edamame, yellowtail nigiri, and they gave us miso soup to try. I then got the tsunami roll, which I devoured before I remembered to take a photo so you see I only had a couple pieces left and I also got the Kamikaze roll. The edamame was amazing!! That chili sauce they put on top was the greatest thing to ever happen to edamame. The tsunami roll was SO good. The flavor was light but very good. The Kamikaze roll was okay. The spice was excellent on it but I could have done without the crispy onion on it. I think it just adds a texture I didn’t enjoy with it but the eel sauce, and the fact I could eat the eel sauce was wonderful.
I was genuinely shocked that place wasn’t completely packed at any point we were there. They open at 5pm and close by midnight but everything was so clean and absolutely nothing had that fishy taste you fear when eating sushi.
I also love that you can order at the counter or scan the QR code at the table and place your order as one or as individuals right on your phone and keep your tab open or close it right away.
We will definitely be eating there several more times before we leave Cali and I am saying this has THE BEST sushi I’ve ever had. I’ve read so many reviews that said that but this place is the only one with a full gluten free menu that has just as many options as the gluten eaters, lol.

I recently had a delightful dining experience at Rolling Sushi Cafe. Arriving close to closing time, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer care. Despite the late hour, the staff treated me with great care and consideration, ensuring I felt welcome and unrushed.

The sushi and tempura were absolutely flavorful, each bite showcasing the freshness and quality of the ingredients. As an added touch of hospitality, they even provided complimentary miso soup, which was a warm and delicious start to the meal.

Overall, Rolling Sushi Cafe exceeded my expectations with both its delectable dishes and outstanding service. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch sushi in a welcoming atmosphere.

I really enjoyed the food here, they have labeled vegan options which is so nice! I’ve ordered Krispy tofu roll, vegan california roll and veggie gyoza, all of them super fresh and delicious. My husband enjoyed all of his fish sushi too!

I was recommended this place. I loved the set up and very friendly staff. The sushi was filling and great. Very good pricing and if you want a beer they have a good selection. I hope to come back again and try macaroons and well.

The staff here is amazing. It looks like a family run restaurant. I love supporting businesses like this, but the value for the food is why I come here. Everything I have ordered tastes so fresh. There is usually parking right outside the door which is always nice. They have specials going on almost everyday of the week! As if we didn’t already have enough reasons to keep coming back. The inside of the place has a very nice vibe to it. I wish it wasn’t takeout only right now because the ambiance is special.

Love this spot. The fish is so fresh. The lunch specials and happy hour prices mean you’re getting a good deal all day. Never too crowded. Best kept secret on Center St. Promenade.

I got the lunch special and at first, I thought the portion would not get me full, but it was a good portion! Both of these rolls were $11, which is pretty affordable for sushi in Anaheim. I like the presentation, but I wish the garnish wasn’t a disposable plastic grass. I honestly don’t remember what these rolls were called, but I liked the roll in the back (see picture). The fish was fresh, and the cuts were nice and clean. There was a bit too much garlic, in my opinion, but overall it added a nice crunch to the dish. The spicy tuna roll (front) was also nice. It’s your standard roll, which definitely has the components just right.

The service was also good. I didn’t wait more than 10 minutes to retrieve the food, and the cashier was nice and friendly. You cannot dine in the restaurant, as city policy requires food to be ordered to-go, which I didn’t mind at all.

I played late at Disneyland and stopped by because it was cold, and the warm udon was so delicious.

The sushi and rolls were so great too.

A place I really want to come if I stop by nearby.

The sushi rolls were to big to eat and they needed to be cut down or made smaller. The service was okay could have been better. I did not enjoy the sushi as it was strange in taste like it was old and not fresh.
