I must mention one worker in particular who is the “most unfriendly person” ever. She has served me so many times and never once acts like she might have seen me before. One time when they got my order wrong and they forgot one biscuit, she wouldn’t take my word for it and made me produce a receipt to get a replacement biscuit. Her scratchy voice is unmistakable like she’s smoked her entire life. Believe me when I say that I go there A LOT and 90% of the time this woman is there working. I guessing she must be very reliable and that’s why she’s still there but she also reliably gives the worst customer experience.
MY LAST STRAW – On Feb 5, 2026, at 12:58pm (on receipt) I ordered three biscuits with a new voice/woman at the drive through who I paid when I got up to the window. Then I saw her leave to her car in the parking lot. I thought “I guess it’s a change of shift”. Next the most unfriendly worker handed me my order. I clearly said thank you and looked at her (even though she’s never nice to me I still try to be polite to her). She did nothing to acknowledge me or my words and looked off into space.
Since they have gotten my order wrong so many times in the past, and there was obviously a change of shift, I thought I should check my order. As I was about to turn out of the parking lot, I looked down to see only one Styrofoam box. I knew this meant that the other two biscuits were missing (they are always wrapped in wax paper and put in a little brown paper bag, so it was easy to see they were missing).
I immediately went back and into the store. I started to say “My order is wrong …” and the blonde woman at the cash register (who by dress and demeanor must have been from upper management) tallying money counts, quickly interrupted me to joke uneasily saying something like “I’m not qualified to help you, I’ll let them do it” as she looked behind her at the other workers.
Then I saw the “most unfriendly person” who didn’t look at me and seemed to be grumbling under her breath (and her body language implied that she was saying something like “It’s not my fault” to her co-workers). Quickly an older, shorter friendly African American woman said, “I got you” made eye contact and immediately grabbed my two biscuits and handed them to me with a smile and “sorry about that”. Thanks to her! She’s the only one who was willing to acknowledge the mistake and take responsibility to act (even though she probably had nothing to do with the mistake).
As I said, I’ve been going her a long time. I stuck through this store during COVID when multiple times I went to order and was told they were out of certain products. Once they were out of eggs. And, believe it or not, once they were out of BISCUITS and other days things were disrupted.
However, I think I’m done with Martin’s biscuits for all the reasons above. I’m tired of being mistreated by the most “unfriendly worker ever” and don’t feel like driving away from my house to go to a different location just to be treated nicely. And even though the bacon is always crispy and the biscuits are delightful, they are not good enough to put up with the bad service anymore.
If you are in Atlanta visiting or haven’t been to Martin’s, you BETTER get it there.
I went through the drive-thru, so I’m not sure what the inside atmosphere is like.
